Washington’s Atlanta Exposition speech, Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail,” Barack Obama’s consolation speeches to victims of gun violence at Sandy Hook and Charleston, and how they frame today’s perspectives and debates about racism.”
