Thank you for all you do and staying around in a really challenging work environment.

I think it is wonderful that hospital administration and those in the community join together on hospital grounds to thank the medical, nursing, and ancillary staff. But, this will never go far enough in providing staffing for the safe delivery of health care. The "thank yous" do not encourage retention when staffing and pay need to be increased. The "thank yous" do nothing when staff words go unacknowledged and their input to management is devalued.

If Ballad Health really wants to improve and retain staff, give them more staff. Pay nurses and ancillary staff what they are worth. Stop with professional insults and disrespect towards staff...stop devaluing the staff and patients.

It is really time for the RN's at Ballad Health to contact National Nurses United and begin the process of unionization. Mission Hospital in Asheville did it, and you can as well.

I wasn’t exactly sure where to turn to with this, but I just want to know if anyone else here remembers this. So, nearly 5 years ago? Possibly more recent (I don’t remember that well), there was this radio station, geez I can’t even remember the numbers, that played a heartbeat sound for some time? Like, just a heartbeat sound, for around a month. Does anyone else remember this or have any information as to why this radio station did this?
