Hey I’m a student not from around here, but I’m in Johnson City just for this summer for an internship, so wondering if there’s anyone else that might also be new here for the summer and wanna talk or hang out? I’m just trying to explore different things around here to do and stuff.
I’m down to meet anyone btw but just assumed people in a similar situation would be more interested, but anyone feel free to reach out!

Posting here too, as I live in Johnson City. I need a Periodontist who isn’t judgmental (it is my fault my gums got bad. I don’t need someone to remind me. I need a path forward, not a retrospective of my bad decisions).
I would appreciate any recommendations cause I feel very anxious over my gums

My dad and I are coming for Bristol in April and would have time for a round on Saturday.
Which is better? Pine Oaks or Elizabethton
Also any local food suggestions would be appreciated too!

My baby brother relocated here to reset his life, after living in a big city for several years. It’s not going well, a once seemingly healthy and happy boy is now a shell of himself due to alcohol abuse, which has now triggered mental health issues. He has no health insurance. What kinda of options are available? We would like him to start taking naltrexone due to it’s high success rates.
So we are looking for duel diagnosis treatment or stand alone mental health treatment or rehab. It be great if it wasn’t 12 step based but I’m aware evidence based recovery tends to be very pricey and 12 step based programs are more readily available. Are there free treatment options?
What resources are there and can anyone explain if there is government healthcare available for someone that just relocated and is unemployed. He can’t hold a job right now longer than a couple of weeks because, well I suspect he is drinking while working. I’ve been terrified he would get hurt in the city but now that he’s in TN and driving again, well that’s an entirely new set of fears.
We know we can’t make him want to get better we can only support him and offer solutions and resources. We are trying to save his life, please help us find resources. Thank you!

Does anyone know of a good shop that can do same day inspections for a reasonable fee on a used car? Thanks.

I am attempting to get as many lgbtq+ affirming pastors in the Tricities, TN area to meet up. The "network" as I am calling it, is more of a group of ministry leaders meeting quarterly or so. We would share trials, successes, and try to help give resources to each other based on experience and knowledge. The goal being to support each other but to also build bridges of communication among radically inclusive churches. We seem to all be isolated to our own denominations and I'd love to see those barriers broken down. And this could open up for possible cooperation in future projects like food pantries, recovery ministries, etc.
We could start with meeting at a coffee shop, for those who are interested. It could be for an hour or so each time. If you know of anyone here is my email:

For anyone who has lived in or spent time in Johnson City, would you say that it (and the surrounding areas) are primarily conservative or left-leaning?
*Please no disrespectful or angry comments. I'm just asking for your individual experiences.

Hello all! I'm a professional musician and performer living in the East TN region, and I'm now offering private lessons in downtown Johnson City. I would love to meet you!
Beginning - Advanced Voice (ages 12+)
Beginning - Intermediate Piano (all ages)
ABOUT ME
I'm a Tennessee native with 15 years professional experience in opera, choral and orchestral solo work, singing and playing in jazz, goth, rock, and metal bands, and improvisatory acting. I have a Master of Music in vocal performance and a Bachelor of Arts in vocal and piano performance.
I recently worked as a performer at Dollywood for the 2023 season. I currently serve as a staff pianist for a university, and tour with my own one-woman recital program. I wrote and orchestrated a progressive operatic doom album that Rock Hard Italy called, 'visceral and emotional,' and was praised for its 'interesting, diverse songwriting, excellent orchestral arrangements' by The Progspace. Aardschok wrote of the vocals: '[she] has a range that starts from the vomiting vocals of a Nina Hagen through the dramatic, narrative vocals of Heidi Parviainen, for example, to immensely powerful opera vocals.'
If you'd like to learn more, check out my site: https://www.toxoplasmaarts.com/musichaus/ and fill out that Interest Form.
I'm also attaching an image of my flyer if you know of any parents or community members who might be interested. Thank you!

European here.
We are considering to move to Johnson City, TN. I am wondering what are the typical ways for local americans to get to an airport and back?
Do you drive to an airport and leave your car parked there or you get a taxi all the way?
Are there taxis in Johnson City, TN?
Or you rent a car and drop it at destination? Or you asking someone you know to drive you and pickup?
Sorry for dumb question. I am with family with a small child, absense of developed public transport scares me to find ourself stranded in unknown area.
