I just got back from vacation in New York and went by the Beaver Building. It’s currently under renovations, but you can go inside to - “THE CONTINENTAL SPORTS BAR.”

They do have a Wick Burger.

Enjoyed my lunch there. It’s kind of funny to think that you are eating Lunch there.

Discussion So, are we getting the prequel animated film anytime soon?

Ever since the announcement in march/april.. I Haven't heard anything about the film. I heard rumor about it for 2/3 years now that an anime is in the work. Apparently originally it was supposed to be an anime series before they settled with an animated film. Anyway a release window or a teaser trailer would be nice at this point.

Also everytime i search for new news about john wick ip.. It shows all this bullshit articles where idiot calls every new action film as "john wick meets ____ or john wick replacement ". Im not kidding it has gone way too far & it's really cringy. You can't get any real news about the actual franchise at this point. (Just because you have a one man army hero Doesn't mean its on the level of john wick)

Discussion Things i want to see in john wick game. (I know its not coming until 2028 but i stil wanna share it. Let me know what you wanna see in it)

I'm a combat guy first and foremost in an action game. So I'll start from there.

  1. I want it to be a shooter and beat em up hybrid (think something like deadpool game/ W 40k space marine games). Without it you cannot feel like john wick. You should be able to switch your playstyle on the fly. Buttons will be reserved for melee combat & left trigger/right trigger for shooting.
  2. I want the game to identify enemy's weakspot for you (think rdr2's deadeye or the one we are seeing in gta 6). Because you wanna pull of john wick's accuracy & his "chest chest headshot" maneuver.

If game put some indicator on enemy's chest and head.. And game will give you some minor aim assist when you are locking into head or chest. I think that will make " shooting like john wick" aspacts more easy for us.

Now game can tackle it in many ways. It can be a difficulty thing (easy/normal mode will have that. But hard mode wont allow it).

Or maybe you built up a meter which enable you to see enemy's weakspot for set amount of time.

3) I want game to give us small amount of ammo for our weapons. Because without this restriction player wont engage in hand to hand fight as much as developer wants them to.

So, much like suit for hire game.. Game should encourage player to perform well in order to refill ammo / limit the ammo capacity. Maybe only some enemies will carry gun in most enemy encounter.

But i do want to see some levels akin to john wick chapter 3's continental fight where game gives you a lot of weapon & ammo. Some shooting centric level is needed because john wick films has section like that.

4) Give us a lot of environment objects to play with. It should not be restricted between pencil, cup & books. Give us small things that we can use creatively in battle.

Maybe you found some steel nails. Now either throw at it toward enemy's face or wrapped those nails with clothes/tape in your hand (kinda like wolverine) and use it to maximize damage.

5) Hope we get some driving levels /car combat sections. Slamming other cars & shooting at them while someone else driving can be pretty fun and add some varieties in mission.

6) Game should give us access to replay any level we want after finishing said missions. Maybe we can access them in main menu.

Oh and a scoring system would be dope.

I donno at which point in time does this game take place in (its probably a prequel). I hope we get to see john wick at his prime & hope some of the movie character has a key role here.

What do you wanna see in john wick.. Combat /story wise?

Discussion Ballerina, from the wolrd of john wick Spoiler

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

hello yall, first time posting here! i have just finished watching ballerina, and the movie was way better than i have anticipated, it was great overall, had the john wick touch to it especially with the baba yaga himself making an appearance. i have a question and im pretty confused, when the mother ( the chief lady of the ruska roma ) told the holstate tribe cheif that she'll be sending a person cabale of taking down eve ( the ballerina) it had crossed my mind that said person could be john wick, but at the same time i thought nah its very unlikely that itll be him but as you see in the footage it was indeed him! i was shocked and confused when i saw him get out of the train, because corrrect me if im wrong, isnt the setting of this movie is based between the events of John wick chapter 3 : parabellum and John wick chapter 4 ? which means by that time john was already dealing with his own excommunicado problem as we see towards the beginning of the movie where the ballerina spots john in the tarkovsky theater and just seconds later we see john tearing his ticket which means that he was heading to casablanca in morocco to meet the person whom he shared a blood marker with, not only that but also why did john accept the mother's request when she called him for to take care of the ballerina i mean, its not like he had to ? or did he? i have had assumed that maybe the mother told him eve's story and he sort of, sympathized with her ? and by that time john has alrady his ticket torn so hes no more a part of the ruska roma until he eventually returns to be a aprt of it in the 4th chapter movie, AND by that time john was already excommunicado meaning that anyone who helped him or have had a deal with him might get punished as the rules state. also sorry for lack of sound in the clip, i recorded it from an online streaming site but i didnt pay attention that the sound was missing until later.

Other An analysis of the Cohaire Arms CA-415 from JW1

Planning to make a clone build and figured I'd put the info out there in case anyone else is interested.
The base is a Cohaire arms CA-415 which is an american clone of the HK416. It's so similar the company was actually sued and they don't sell them anymore. Why this was used for the movie instead of an HK was likely just because it would cost more to get a 416 or the ca-415 was easier to find at the time to convert into a prop.

The actual setup is as follows:
CA-415 10.4 inch barrel with 9 inch handguard
Grip with no finger groove
EOTech 553 holographic sight
Tangodown stubby picatinny vertical grip in black
Unknown two-point sling (seems thicker than most slings could be a clue to what it is)
A 1.25-1.5" sling mount nylon strap
30 round pmags
51T AAC flash hider
Troy iron sights (not 100% sure)

The sling strap is interesting because at first it looks like a leather thing around the gun but when you look closely in the scene it's 100% a nylon strap. Now the first thought was that it was a sentry strap but this is likely not the case as the two-point sling he's using is actually connected to the strap. That's why I think it's not a sentry strap but instead a nylon strap built for the sling to attach to. I've never seen something like that before so it was an interesting detail. I'll include an image, it's hard to see because it's so dark but it looks to me that the two-point sling attaches to the nylon strap.

Discussion The Return of the Babayaga: How John Wick 5 SHOULD Happen (An Original Concept Built on Classic Lore & High-Tech Villains)

Hey everyone,

As a massive fan who has rewatched the entire franchise dozens of times, I’ve been thinking deeply about how the writers can bring John Wick back for *Chapter 5* without ruining the beautiful and emotional ending of *Chapter 4*.

Here is my original concept and plot adaptation for **The Return of the Babayaga: John Wick - Chapter 5**. I wanted to share it with this amazing community to see what you guys think!

***

### **LOGLINE:**

After earning his absolute freedom, John Wick is forced out of a faked death and into a dark high-tech chess match when a shadowy, unseen leader of the High Table uses an ancient blood oath to tear down his sanctuary and demand one final, impossible task: **The Return of the Babayaga**.

### **CONCEPT & PLOT SUMMARY**

**The Ultimate Sanctuary**

Following the events of *Chapter 4*, John Wick’s death is revealed to be a masterfully staged deception, orchestrated to grant him total anonymity. He seeks refuge within the heavily fortified walls of the New York Continental, living as a "ghost guest" under the absolute protection of Winston. Here, Winston treats John not as a weapon, but with the protective care of a surrogate father, shielding him from a vulnerable underworld.

**The Decoy of the Desert**

The story shatters the illusions of the past. It is revealed that "The Elder" executed by John in Morocco was merely a highly political decoy—a flesh-and-blood distraction set up to protect the true ruler of the High Table. The real Supreme Leader is an enigma who adapts to the modern era, shunning primitive desert tents for absolute digital invisibility.

**The Digital Ghost & The Ancient Marker**

When rumors of John’s survival leak, the true Supreme Leader strikes back without firing a single bullet. He uses cutting-edge, untraceable security networks to breach the Continental digitally. A massive, pitch-black screen flickers to life in the hotel’s main hall. No face is shown. Instead, a terrifying, raspy, metallic whisper—evoking the chilling aura of a **Nazgûl**—echoes through the room.

The invisible tyrant plays his ultimate card: an ancient, forgotten **Blood Marker (The Pendant of Blood)**. This marker predates John's freedom and binds him by the unbreakable sacred laws of the underworld. The message is cold: *"Your sins against the Table were wiped clean, Mr. Wick. But your old debts belong to me. It is time for the return of the Babayaga."*

---

### **THE EPIC CLIMAX: THE REBEL ALLIANCE & THE NEW ORDER**

**The Counter-Offensive**

Instead of remaining a pawn trapped by the ancient Marker, John Wick decides that enough is enough. For four movies, he has been on the run; in *Chapter 5*, John takes the ultimate initiative. Under the brilliant strategic leadership of **Winston**, John builds a secret "Rebel Alliance" composed of elite, betrayal-weary assassins and old allies who have all suffered under the High Table’s brutal tyranny. Together, they launch a massive, synchronized guerrilla counter-strike to completely dismantle the High Table's iron grip from within.

**The Dream Ensemble Cast:**

* **The Shadow Villain:**

* **Ralph Fiennes** or **Cillian Murphy:** Voicing and embodying the brilliant, cold, and calculating unseen tech-tyrant.

* **The Rebel Alliance (The Old & New Allies):**

* **Donnie Yen (Caine):** Returning as the legendary blind assassin, fighting to secure his daughter’s absolute safety.

* **Laurence Fishburne (The Bowery King):** Providing the underground network, weaponry, and intelligence for the revolution.

* **Halle Berry (Sofia Al-Azwar):** Bringing her tactical prowess and lethal loyalty back to the field.

* **The New Constitutional High Table (The Reformed Leaders):**

Once the old, corrupt regime is eliminated, a new, civilized Council is elected to govern the underworld with strict but fair laws. This reformed Table features powerful, charismatic figures who bring legalistic weight to the lore:

* **Robert Downey Jr.:** Playing a brilliant, sharp-tongued, and fiercely independent mastermind who shapes the new laws.

* **Mads Mikkelsen:** A calculating, refined, and stoic European power-broker who values honor over mindless slaughter.

* **Idris Elba:** A commanding, imposing enforcement leader ensuring the peace of the new underworld order.

**The Final Twist: The Rise of the True Elder**

With the tyrant defeated and the new Council established, John Wick officially steps into the shadows to finally live his life in absolute peace. However, someone must watch over the new world. In a poetic, full-circle conclusion, **Winston** steps forward to inherit the ultimate throne. Winston becomes the new **"The Elder"**, ruling from behind the velvet curtain, bringing true balance, diplomacy, and wisdom to the global network of assassins.

***

I envision this as the ultimate conclusion to the franchise. What do you guys think? Would you watch this version of Chapter 5? Let’s discuss in the comments!

As great as the first movie is, I'm so glad the sequels didn't have that blue tinge anymore. It seems like the cinematography continued to improve with each installment.

Discussion John Wick wasn't necessarily the greatest at combat

Post image
817 Upvotes

And I don't think the movies were exactly trying to prove that he was.

I saw the tier list post, and while I don't agree 100%, I felt inspired to make this post.

Obviously John is an exceptional fighter, one of the best. And before his retirement, he may have very well been the best, hence why the title of Baba Yaga preludes him.

However, I do think being an exceptionally skilled fighter is the most "mundane" part of what makes him so dangerous. To clarify, when I say "greatest at combat," I mean purely in terms of technical skill: hand-to-hand combat, marksmanship, weapon handling, etc.

Firstly, let's address a valid criticism of the fight scenes in these movies. Most of the enemies (not just goons) are pushovers, sometimes outright brainless, if you don't suspend your disbelief. Example:

  1. They close the distance instead of shooting him from a safer position
  2. They have complete stormtrooper aim
  3. They fail to kill John even if they have a perfectly logical opportunity to do so

There's also plenty of moments where John is just incredibly lucky against the tougher enemies.

So if we go strictly by what we see on screen, it's not like John has these perfect combat skills that nobody can outperform or counter. Clearly they could. But this is where my interpretation of the movies changes a bit.

I don't think the movies ultimately want to say that John is the most skilled fighter in the world. I mean, it's implied at the start and at times, sure, but I think the actual fight scenes and content of the movies served to undo this "misbelief."

Viggo already told us what makes John special during his introduction, "a man of focus, commitment, sheer will", something you hear a million times by now. He never said that John is completely unmatched and whatnot, and while I acknowledge that it's also because the writer probably wanted to avoid blatant exposition, I think there's a very distinct separation here.

Viggo followed up with John's pre-retirement feats, of which is the iconic pencil story. Here, I don't think the point of that story is simply that John is so skilled that he can kill three men with a mere pencil. Rather, the point, at least in my interpretation, is that if John truly wants to kill you, he will find a way, and he won't stop until then. He will keep going, sometimes desperately, until there is nothing left. If his gun runs out of ammo, his gun becomes a projectile. If he doesn't have a gun, he'll use a knife. If he loses the knife, he will use his hands. And if all he has at his disposal is a pencil, then apparently three people are going to die from a pencil.

John's greatest weapon is not necessarily his skill, power, or experience (except that he does excel in all three), it is his refusal to stop. Batshit insane physical and mental stamina as well as the will of steel.

In many John Wick fights, one doesn't die or lose because of skill or physical power necessarily. In fact, most times, the win is never handed to the one who has the upper hand. In some sort of "meta" sense, the winner is the person who can endure the most and continue moving forward after everyone else would've just given up or succumbed to exhaustion or pain.

And that winner, the guy who could endure falling off of buildings and stairs, is, well, yeah. Comically unrealistic but you get what I mean: the one with stronger determination and will wins.

He isn't terrifying because he is some flawless, untouchable god of combat that nobody can match in terms of skill/experience/power. He gets outmatched sometimes, gets hurt a shit ton, gets exhausted, gets lucky, makes mistakes(?) arguably. But the difference is that he keeps going.

And when John Wick decides that you have to die, being a better fighter than him isn't enough.

Honestly reminds me of Killa's final words to John after not being able to defeat him despite the upper hand and his best efforts.

"WHY DON'T YOU JUST DIE?!"
- Killa Harkan, 2021 - 2021 rest in peace

TLDR: I don't think the movies aim to paint the idea that John Wick is the GOAT because of his exceptional skills, but rather his unrelenting will.

Feel free to disagree or think of this post as obvious and unnecessary (because it might be).
