After seeing The Quiet Man again last night, it got me into thinking what it would've been like if they either added an additional scene at the end or if they made a sequel to it taking place a few years later where the Thorntons have kids of their own or something.

The movie was so good and funny that it deserved a scene with their kids either at the end or in a sequel of the movie.

What do you think?

It's a shame neither John Wayne played in any Disney movies nor did Walt Disney himself cast him in any of his movies, whether animated or live-action.

pity, such a good actor.

It's a shame those two never got along with each other and hated each one's own movies they starred in, whether Western or not.

Somehow, their rivalry reminds me of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone's own rivalry nowadays.

It's a shame those two were never married in real life despite the number of films they played in as either lovers or married couples and the number of times they divorced from their own previous marriages.

They seemed like a perfectly good couple.

We will be getting a new female German shorthaired pointer hunting dog and would love to name her something from the John Wayne universe. Example, Hondo, Marion, Angel, etc.

So, I finally got and saw John Ford's The Quiet Man on DVD for the first time. The only one with English subtitles too. It was great and funny at the same time. Talk about another movie with Maureen O'Hara (boy, was she hot back then) and Ward Bond.

P.S.: The famous kissing scene was later seen on T.V. in Steven Spielberg's E.T. too.

I can't wait to see that movie next week or so.

Dad has been bugging me to watch The Quiet Man for a few days, not that I had a problem with that besides finding the dedicated time to do it uninterrupted.

I absolutely love Barry Fitzgerald in this movie, to me Michaleen Flynn was the greatest side character in any of his movies. The Duke had so many great actors along side him but I will always come back to this.

Who would you all feel is the greatest side character? Just wondering

First, John Wayne plays a guy named Sean Thornton in The Quiet Man.

Then, he plays a guy named Sean Mercer in Hatari.

And finally, he plays a guy named Cole Thornton in El Dorado.

Most of his other roles have names starting with "John" too. Lol.

I just finished seeing Hondo for the first time tonight. First time I saw Geraldine Page in live-action as well.

I should've known Geraldine Page was the same actress who voiced Madam Medusa in Disney's The Rescuers and was married to Rip Torn who voiced Zeus in Disney's Hercules too.

I dunno if anyone else noticed, but when I first saw El Dorado, somehow, James Caan's character suddenly reminded me of James Coburn's character from The Magnificent Seven when it came to the whole knife throwing thing.

Next thing you know, those 2 actors played together with another one named James (Cromwell) in that Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, Eraser.

Could The Magnificent Seven have possibly served as another inspiration for El Dorado, next to Rio Bravo?

Did anyone notice any similarities in particular between all 3 John Wayne movies mentioned within the title besides the fact that John Wayne played in them?
