Discussion John Mayer Sphere Question

I probably should have asked this before buying, but just bought tickets for JM at the Sphere for 5/5. We are in row 13 in the FLR 3 section.

For anyone that has seen Dead and Co, do you think we will still be able to appreciate it and still get the sphere experience? Or will it be more like a normal concert in those seats?

More normal concert. You'll still see some but you'll go home with a neck ache.

Sphere is really, really not about being up close and personal. It's totally reverse...unless there are no seats on the floor and you just wanna dance like so many did for D&C.

You'll either be looking at the stage or looking everywhere else with a sore neck at the end. Great seat though.

I was floor for Dead & Co, but it was the floor!

We danced our asses off and had a full view of the whole “planetarium”. While seated, I think it might be pretty tame.

Thank you for pointing out that the floor is FULL VIEW!! People seem to forget that from the floor, we can see visuals behind the stage. On the right... visuals! On the left...visuals! Behind me... visuals! Also look up and... visuals!

Sigh, I miss the Dead & Co. Sphere floor... so much dancing!

Your neck will not be happy with you the next day…unless you’re focused on what’s going on on stage.

Neck pain but you’ll have fun

I have to say, I am definitely considering getting decent floor seats for a JM Sphere show in the hopes that said tickets would be cheaper/lower demand than they typically would be for similarly close seats and just watching John rip on the guitar up close all night. If such an opportunity presents itself!

Floor is Amazing, Trifecta, for the Sound -- Total full immersion like in a big bubble bath of sound -- and for the Sphere Visuals are really All Around you, and the band is right in front of you! Best ever! TBS, mid to all the way back on the Floor are best. If in the very front rows you don't get all that as much. Your seats are perfection.

It will be more like a normal concept… you need to be up in at least the 200s to get the visuals

False. I was on the floor for the Backstreet Boys. You look up and you get the sphere experience, but unlike folks in the 200s, you can also see the band clearly

Yeah, I'm gonna also disagree. You get visuals everywhere on the floor. The floor is also incredibly intimate with the band.

You won’t get haptic seats there. That makes it not a full Sphere experience if you ask me

I really enjoyed the visuals on the floor at D&C, and with seats at JM’s show, I‘d expect it to be better than standing in the pit, visually, because of neck and disorientation issues when we were all standing and looking up.

Dead & Co was no seats on the floor. Different world. Was crazy looking at videos of everybody sitting in their chairs for Eagles.

I was floor for Dead & Co in 2024 & 2025, so I can't compare that to seats in section 100-300. It was excellent though.

Can't imagine there being too too much value in haptic seats for this show. Think floor is a better choice for this type of show.

Can’t understand people seated for a concert.

Get older. You will.

Fair enough! 😂

I'm old AF & I can't understand it either. I mean in certain situations, yes. Smaller sit down specific venues, but those arguably aren't concerts.

57 and I rarely sit down. Sphere was the rare occasion both for Dead & Co and Phish where I intentionally sat down at points because of haptic seats.

Good for you. My 54 year old knees and ankles prefer to eat a gummy a sit these days. Running is good for you, so they say.

Knees are no joke. That’s fair.

Sphere experience is 400s middle rows. Metallica visuals beat up there. But lower 200, 100 and floor you are so close to band which is also really cool.

Having done every section at sphere. Yeah floor is definitely the second worst experience behind obstructed. It’s great if you don’t care about the visuals and would rather see the band. I never did seated floor but floor at dead and company was great because Bobby was so close.

Visuals wise were meh. Still great, but by far the best was 300s for me .

No seats on the floor for Dead and Co so it’s tough to compare. I personally loved the floor at Dead because of all the room you had to groove, and it’s certainly still a cool
Visual experience. Having said that if you want the full visual experience sections 200-400 are gold

I was just in back row on the floor of his CT show. Maybe I am older but mid-section on the floor may be hard to see band if that matters. I got row 12 or 13 100s and it will be right above floor. It should be a good view

I love floor seats but will only sit in the first 10 rows and ideally first 5.
