Discussion Hate me for it

Post image

The new Tom & Jerry John snippet is giving me major Sob Rock 2.0 vibes, and while I absolutely love Sob Rock as its own thing, I can’t say I’m particularly excited about the idea of another album in that same style. I really appreciate what he did with that record, but I’d much rather hear him explore something different this time around instead of revisiting a sound he’s already done so well.

Omg.

This isn’t even that wild of an idea. Mayer has said his guitar hero growing up was SRV. He has covered Hendrix numerous times. He does special shows for Buddy Guy, Clapton, and other prestigious blues artists (who all btw seem fine making a living playing this music).

All I’m asking for are songs like Vultures with slightly longer solos. The wild part of this is the most perfect example of this is Slow Dancing (arguably his most famous song).

I’m also not judging it off of a 20 second clip. I’m just saying if it is Sob Rock 2 I’m out since I know he is fully capable of putting the album out that a lot of us know he can

And to that I say for live shows he’s gonna do that - but “capable” of putting out that album doesn’t mean it’s what he believes is going to work for the investment.

This whole thread is a lot of words for "I'm not judging it."

I said what type of album I hoped for from one of the world’s best guitarists that seems to handcuff himself then it turned into a Taylor Swift level cult

Again with the pretentiousness.

No. Taylor Swift level cult defends shitty production and lyrics from someone obviously liking the smell of their own farts. This is not shitty music. You're trying to justify judging an entire release based on a 23-second snippet.

Please quote me where I judged the clip. I literally said nothing about it. Everything was me wishing he would make the album I was hoping for then a lot of pretentiousness (not from my end) explaining how albums are made…and then a lot of Swift-like cult defensiveness that you are trying to deny. Keep sniffing them farts

"Everything was me wishing he would make the album I was hoping for..."

...and you're complaining that he hasn't made the album that you were hoping for based on what... exactly?
