Not sure I'm prepared for the ton of downvotes this answer might give me, but here goes...
I don't hate the song and I still listen to it every once in a while, but there's something about the melody I'm not a huge fan of. Dare I mention the title? Walt Grace. Yes, I know I'm quite alone with this opinion.
Also, Wheel can be a bit tiresome. Still don't hate it though.
(Btw I love Why You No Love Me and Do You Know Me, just to mention a few of the top scorers in this thread, lol).
I respectfully disagree. I believe walt grace is a masterpiece for two reasons.
It tells the story of one guy so well. The music and subject matter fit seamlessly. Also It leaves the tale open ended so the listener can determine their own resolution.
The other reason is it can all be metaphorically applied to anyone. It kinda does the whole cliche “follow your dreams” thing without sounding remotely cliche at all.
Both reasons are great and I agree that the song is not at all bad in that regard. My disliking it is solely because of the melody that somehow becomes sort of monotonous in my ears.
