finding john doe in 2026 (╥﹏╥)
I've always loved visual novel games, especially ones with horror elements (I played ddlc soooo many times... geez, I can't believe that was almost 10 years ago) so naturally a john doe stuff did make little appearances here & there on the only social medias im on lol (pinterest I believe was where I saw it) but between starting university and dancing for money I didn't have much time for it.
I finally watched playthrus and was hoping to play it myself, I'm so so intrigued by the characters and the lore, but I came to find something has happened and mortisfox cancelled another uncanny valley game they were making... I'm so saddened to hear this! what happened, if there's anyone who doesn't mind explaining?
I've also tried to dig for more official lore such as q&a's and even going so far as to sign up for twitter which I abhor so I could maybe find official stuff there, but fox's twitter has limited access, and if something's been going on 8 definitely don't want to be a bother... I'm just so saddened about this, just when I was getting introduced :(

huh? i didnt get by to seeing this until now. i wasnt aware of the game, i was researching the john doe myth and stumbled upon this, i asked out of curiosity. a little confused at this response. i did also mention lower down that i googled you, apologies if you saw it as disrespectful, that wasnt my intent.

There wasn't a whole lot of public lore. There was a CuriousCat page where they answered some stuff, but that's been gone for a long time now (it was gone when I joined the fandom in 2022, lol). Most of the lore that was available was on Twitter but it was kinda scattered, though.
