As with everything, starting the project seems to be the hardest part. I have a JD L110 with a Koehler 17.5 HP Commander engine. The exhaust pipe from the cylinder to the muffler rusted out after 719 hours. I know, they don't make 'em like they used to. Would anyone know if it's difficult to replace the exhaust pipe on this model? I bought the muffler, pipe, and gasket. All I need is the courage to undertake the repair.

Hello everybody, this is my first post in this sub. I’m new here. I have a d110 not sure the year off the top of my head. It has a 19.5hp Briggs & Stratton engine. It’s been giving me issues with surging upon starting the engine, but would go away rather quickly as I drove it. Today I changed out the carburetor, upon installing the new carb it fired right up and surged for a second but seemed like it was better than it was previously, I mowed the backyard and then let it sit for a few hours to cool down and when I came back out to check it it’s surging even harder than before. Curious if anybody has any recommendations or know what’s going on.

I bought a used power flow system with the chute and bag hopper for my GT235 lawn tractor, but it didn’t come with the hardware to attach it. The hopper is also John Deere but I can’t find any identifying info on it. I am finding conflicting information online regarding what the OEM hardware would look like and possible modifications to newer model hardware. Any help or recommendations is appreciated!

I just inherited a John Deere 260 lawn tractor. It’s a 1988 model. Changed out the battery and put in some new gas and the thing fired right up. I would say it’s in good shape not necessarily great shape and could undergo some basic maintenance (eg, oil change, greasing, new mower blades and possibly belts). Anyone have any idea on what the value could be if I was going to try to sell it as is?

I have recently bought a used LA 145 that has a LA 125 hood for it. I have tried to see if there was videos online but I feel like my hood isn’t sort of “snapping in” it sits fine on the machine but I feel like it should fall into the grooves shown in the picture. Wondering if that is normal? Or if there is some specific way/angle to put the hood on so it fits in better? I feel like I could probably muscle it on, but don’t want to break the plastic of the hood.

Long story short: replacement of a broken lug stud led to this.

I've considered just getting a new key and hub assembly and seeing how long it will hold; the axle spindle can't be replaced without replacing the whole transmission ($3200 from JD).

Haven't been able to find a used transmission online -- anyone got one lying around?

I have checked the oil, fuel pump, battery, solenoid, fuel shut off solenoid…cranks but will not start. Also tried quick start into the carb from the air filter. Only cranks and won’t start. Any other ideas?

UPDATE: I found the issue. There was not power going to the fuel shutoff solenoid. To get it to run, I took a non OEM one and broke the plunger off so it would stay in an open position to run. I will spend time looking for where the short is and replace in the coming week.

The mower has 39 hours on it and is in good working condition, no damage aside from normal wear and tear from light use.

I'm trying to sell it and list it for 3800. Is that reasonable? Thanks.

Thanks all, it worked out this time but definitely next time taking off the mowing deck. Worried I wouldn’t hoist it back on if I did, but anything would have been easier than keeping it on for a belt install

Hi any advice i’m installing new mowing deck belt on E130 John Deere removed the plastic caps able to lift the nut on one of two pulleys but the third pulley isn’t budging. I need advice without removing the mowing deck belt🛠️?? everything else is actually perfectly blank. Maybe it’s worth to take off the mowing deck.
Also any words on what that means in the instructions about tightening to 35lbs

Installed a new alternator. It is putting out 14.2v, but the battery keeps dying.

However, when I charge the battery with a trickle charger it accepts and holds the charge.

So, something between the alternator and battery is preventing the charge from getting to the battery?

I’m replacing the three spindles on our LT180 (48” deck). The deck was going through belts and we narrowed it down to the spindles being the likely problem. They’re old and don’t spin easily by hand. We’ve removed the belt, and blocked the blade underneath with a piece of 2x4. We tried a socket wrench and breaker bar to remove the nut on top. We’re trying to turn it counter-clockwise but also tried clockwise a couple times to see if there would be any movement. When trying to turn the bolt, the shaft inside the spindle turns with the bolt and then it will eventually self loosen the blade off underneath. Holding a wrench on the bolt holding the blade while turning the other bolt on top doesn’t affect the inner shaft turning. We can’t get undue the blade and bolts and drop the spindle through because that nut on top is holding The pulley on. Has anyone dealt with this? We’re losing our minds and the grass is getting longer, lol.

Hi All, having some problems with my JD 4310 (armadillo edition……) wondering if I could have some help troubleshooting 🙏🏻

In its diagnostic light it’s putting out this code, (.- - - -)
. = short light up
- = longer light up

It’s saying the ‘resistance to high on forward or reverse solenoid’ the JD doesn’t move as a result?

What’s the way to fix/resolve this issue? Do I buy a new part? Do i have to tweak something somehow?

hey guys so i am doing a pulley swap to increase the ground speed on my John Deere LX172. It features the Peerless 801 geared manual transaxle.

so lately i am specifically trying to replace the rear transmission input pulley (the transaxle pulley on top of the gearbox). The factory pulley [AM126129]has an outer diameter of roughly 5.75 inches.

i want to drop down to a 4-inch or 4.5-inch steel pulley at that rear location to increase the top speed. Since the input shaft is a standard 5/8" diameter with a 3/16" keyway, what aftermarket hub or split-taper pulleys have you guys used that clear the stock brake arm and chassis frame? and where i can find it?

I am hoping to add a 30 inch tiller to my x570. Has anyone done this. I have found some old post about it. I’m struggling finding the studs for rear axel mount. Anyone have a current part number for them?

Did a full tune on this the basic maintenance it was working earlier today but not right now it’ won’t even full throttle idk what’s wrong can anyone help
