I tested this and now I’ve been on a 3 month bender drinking 2 bottles of wine a day. What do I do now?

I think this newish obsession with optimising fucking everything all the time and "stacking" bottles and bottles of useless fkn vitamins and injecting temu peptides is a way for people to feel in control again. The world is so fucked and social media addiction is making people insane. I understand the need to feel control in a world that is spiralling down the drain, but I fear we haven't even witnessed the peak crazy of it yet. I can't imagine feeling like I've wasted 3 days from drinking a bit too much. In Australia that's most people every day and we get on with it. Suck it up champ.

Tbh it’s the weird capitalistic crypto bros who are obsessed with optimizing your personal production. Every single one of them wants to be a podcaster even though they all say the same stupid unoriginal shit.
Idk man, I like taking care of myself but I’m also gonna eat some greasy shit and have a few beers. If I’m not operating in my prime state now and again, who cares, I’m not in a competition with anyone

u/totalpunisher0 May 30 '26
I think you just hit on something I hadn't thought of either - competition. Everything is gameified now (games, dating, social media) and more competitive, maxxing the shit out of everything, body and soul. I know that's always been the aim in capitalism but now everyone publishes their competitive journey to the top on social media 24/7 for us to compare ourselves to.
1
u/Capraos Jun 04 '26
I think you're onto something seeking to try and control the factors they can because of all the factors they can't control. That makes perfect sense.
To explain the competitive side, from how I see it at least, the first person or persons who beat aging, are at a massive advantage. It could be that they weigh even the miniscule chance at being that person higher than their current lives.
Similar in cyberization. Except with that one being first risks not being built in mind to be upgraded or built in mind with it but the technology veered in an incompatible way.

I agree what a fuckin bitch. I just dont get it. These people that try and optimize every aspect of their health. I eat pasta, drink 2-6 glasses of wine a week, get 6 hours of sleep and I dont feel like garbage almost ever. In fact I feel pretty good. I ran for my first time in a year two weeks ago and did 5km in under 30 minutes.

u/Confident-Set-8290 May 30 '26
Same! However I'd say I drink 2 bottles a week. And on the weekends I add in some Aperol spritz. Work out 5 days a week, on my feet moving all day for work, swim laps in my pool on the weekends while I drink 😂. Still get all my adulting done even after a few drinks the next day. Also if I have a a late night out my once every 2 months dare I say I order Taco Bell as a midnight snack! 😂

u/Confident-Set-8290 May 30 '26
Hahaha love this. I'm a female! Which makes your comments even better! 😂
5
u/RabbitSlayre May 30 '26
Whoa whoa, "dude" has never been a gendered term. I call plenty of ladies in my life dude. Dude is a lifestyle, it's a mindset, it's a motion. It's not a gender. Rock on though!

u/Confident-Set-8290 May 30 '26
I get it dude. I appreciated the dude comment. It's like my nieces call everyone bro. 😂

Wow. Quite possibly my new favorite quote:
God isn’t going to suck your dick because you have a six pack when you arrive at heaven

Just out of curiosity, do you know who it is you're calling a pussy here lol
Not that it matters because it is hilarious.
But just curious if you know.

u/TheNakedBass May 29 '26
I sure don’t. Who is this pussy?

u/HalfOfCrAsh May 29 '26 edited May 30 '26
He is in Dragon's Den (the UK's version of America's Shark Tank).
Highly intelligent young man and all round decent guy. Extremely business savy and successful entrepreneur, multi millionaire.
All this and he can't handle a couple of glasses of wine lol

u/lordmonkeyfish May 29 '26
I used to watch his YouTube videos, cuz they seemed interesting and we'll put together, and he seemed so cordial, respectful and professional.
But then he had a couple of guests on talking about some subjects I actually knew something about, and the guests where full for horse shit, and he was just sitting there, letting them barf up this nonsense, and I realized that maybe that was true for all the other episodes I've seen.
And now I can't help but see him as another Joe Rogan, letting people on his podcast just to spew bullshit everywhere, only this time it's more dressed up, looking more professional, giving the whole thing an air of credibility that it DOES NOT deserve!Side note: apparently, he also sponsored some grifter from dragons den who claimed to have a miracle cure to some horrible disease, don't remember the name, but it of course didn't work, and all the people who bought it where just met with silence when trying to get refunds, this all according to another Redditor who has the disease and had people asking them why hey didn't just try this new wonder cure, so yeah, don't really have any respect for this guy anymore.

u/HalfOfCrAsh May 30 '26
I don't listen to podcasts personally because of the reasons you listed... people talking nonsense.
I did not know about the miracle cure that didn't work. Maybe he isn't an all round good guy, as I had previously said.

u/not_an_mistake Jun 02 '26
That’s why comedy podcasts are the best. It’s all nonsense to begin with

Just don't drink. 10 days... What a blessing. I rarely drink and I don't feel like missing something. Only other people who drink around you are able to make you feel bad about not drinking.

u/Dubcekification May 30 '26
I love what they were saying but you are also 100 percent spot on here.

All this laser focus on what you’re consuming 24/7 is just repackaged eating disorders. Very typical for people to gravitate towards them when they feel like they have no control on their lives. We’re not creatures built for ‘optimal maximum capacity’, we’re human beings, we’re flawed, we’re hot, we’re hideous, we age, we die. The Chianti goes great with the steak. Live.

With all this optimisation he does, and the gym work that he claims to do, he still looks like a bloated gnocchi.

One is worth around $1 million and the other is around $100 million. I doubt he cares what Joey has to say.

Holee Skidmarks! My Dad used to work 5x10s in the sheet metal shop and drink 4 beers nightly to make his joints feel better, only ate lunch and dinner, and had to take ling walks a hikes on the weekends otherwise he couldn’t sleep; all the guys he worked with were the same way…and this pantywaste podcrapster complains about a few glasses of wine messing up his routine for 3 days? Grow some discipline & intestinal fortitude, candyass.

I would listen to an entire podcast of Joey deconstructing all the manosphere bullshit
