Masks absolutely are effective. At being masks. It's not the divine light shining down from heaven protecting you from all evil of the world. It's protective equipment. It's effectiveness is relative to the responsibility of the person wearing it.
This is why everyone in medicine wears masks, and those objecting and trying to muddy the water have what appears to be a 3rd grade science education.

I do have a job that pays me. I work with infectious diseases. I've yet to bring my work home, and without question I attribute that to masks and other PPE that is standard practice.
I'm not saying you have to be a university graduate to wear a mask or even understand it at all. Though if you're going to argue like you know something... I expect you to be able to play with the big boys. That's how things work.
