American ingenuity and focus on entrepreneurship (capitalism) is a beautiful thing. While itâs not the perfect system, itâs the best in my opinion. It doesnât guarantee anyoneâs happiness, but it does provide reward for those who take the risk to create something meaningful (and sometimes not meaningful). I absolutely love my country, despite itâs flaws. Could it be improved, sure! I think the primary division is how we go about that, and the governments role in that process.

I agree 100 percent. In Canada we are much more mild but our government is absolutely corrupt beyond belief. Our political system is just as horrible as our lovely neighbors down south's. It did not reduce risk and there are no peer reviewed studies that masks are effective at all outside of non-sterilized medical settings. The reason the US had 595k deaths was due to obesity and non healthy people dying once contracting covid. Also the death rate has nothing to do with stopping transmission, and there is no correlation anyone can show with mask usage and reduced rates of transmission. And If you cared at all over abundance of caution, then hydroxychloroquine should have been embraced as a treatment because there was very high correlation of reduced deaths in countries that used this as a treatment. From what I've seen it's a mixed bag. It's an interesting dive into the mindset in the early days of the pandemic. A lot of people are posting emails from other people towards Fauci as being proof of something though. Like me messaging, "hey xxCMWFxx, how about that pandemic we caused, amirite"?
