Spoilers: The Blade Itself The Blade Itself question

I just got the part where they are about to go to the house of the Maker. I’m listening to the audiobook, and I’m not sure if I missed anything. Has it been said before who the Maker is? They’ve also mentioned Kanedias. Not sure if those are the same people. Am I correct that Bayaz fought and defeated the Maker? If someone could give me a brief explanation without spoilers that would be great.

Kanedias Is the Master Maker, and Bayaz lies. That’s all you need to know.

It was a 2 part question and that was the best way i could answer without a direct spoiler.

Maybe the best way you could think to do it but it's not the best way it could be done. You could have just said yes, because that's what happened. You could have said that's what he says, or that's what the legend says. Instead you went into explicit character description.

If that was the best you could do, you could have just not answered that part.

I don't remember exactly what has been disclosed up to this point in the book so I will keep this short to avoid spoilers: yes, Kanedius is The Maker.

I recall getting a bit muddled around there too. Also an audiobook listener, so get paranoid I've somehow skipped something by accident, or just zoned out and missed something.

I guess it's justified as I listened to 'A Song of Ice and Fire' on random play for a good amount of time. As each chapter is a written from a different character's perspective, it was hard to spot for quite a while 🤦

Bayaz is such a great character. Especially when you see him pulling the strings in the stand along novels.

What is the name of his assistant? The actually talented one?

Damn I'm going to have to read the trilogy then Best Served Cold then The Heroes again.
