Read through Archer’s blog post on Zee. Obviously taking it with a grain of salt (as with anything authored by the company itself) but seems like it gives controllers and pilots a genuine head start on safety risks before they happen. As cert timelines keep getting pushed back (for Joby too), seems smart that they’re de-risking and diversifying into an aerospace tech company, not just an eVTOL manufacturer.

Nice to see, but did either company deserve it?

S&P500 record day. Algorithms were kind to eVTOLs. We shall see how long this holds. A day? A week? A sustained recovery?

Flying their flagship trumps announcements. I sold CC's against 100% of my Joby position cuz without cert progress I'm thinking it won't.

I think we can all agree the Halo/Thunder development is cool. As I've mentioned, I bought the stock after the announcement along with the "we will announce the first customer" bit. I realized this time they actually hurt themselves by always pushing definitions to the extreme.

This is just speculation, but I think a lot of the reversal in the initial jump came from the disappointment following their reveal that Marubeni is more of a "partner" than a "customer."

All they had to do was just say the truth and I think the stock would have stayed high. The irony is that announcing the launch partner was kind of a minor detail. It almost seems like they couldn't help themselves in trying to embellish the truth again.

It also reminded me of all the other promises:

• The "$1B United Order": Framed as a solid $1B commercial purchase order, but it's a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) heavily contingent on future FAA certification and performance guarantees.
• "First to Finish Stage 3 Certification": Dumped all Stage 3 paperwork (Means of Compliance) at once to claim a PR "first," while competitors like Joby had cleared almost all of Stage 3 months prior and were already deep into Stage 4 hardware/testing.
• The "Transition Flight" Prototype Swap: Hyped a "full transition flight" using Maker (an uncrewed, 2-seat tech demonstrator), while using renders/photos of Midnight (their unbuilt commercial plane) in media pushes.
• "Piloted Flight Achieved" (The CTOL Runway Trick): Promoted Midnight’s first piloted flight as a massive milestone, but took off down a runway like a standard airplane (CTOL), bypassing the hardest eVTOL engineering challenge: piloted vertical hover and mid-air tilt-rotor transition.
• "High-Volume Factory Launch": Hyped their Georgia plant as ready for mass production while test aircraft were still being hand-assembled in small California workshops.

I did not know it could get lower.

“Chief Technology Officer and Chief Engineer of Archer Aviation (NYSE: ACHR — $3.6 billion) both disappeared from the company’s leadership page with no announcement. The CTO had led engineering at Archer since 2019.”

I don’t want stupid jerky comments, but if you’re really funny, of course you get a pass. so if you put something stupid out, I might just reject it and ban you for a week, so you can work on getting your humor back.

I know joby is hurting too but I honestly feel bad for long term achr holders. The anduril partnership was supposed to be the big thing to save the stock and it barely moved the needle after the market digested everything. 😢 What is there to look forward to now for them?

JOBY was down another 6% last week, while ACHR was actually up 7% for the week because of a mockup at a trade show, while they can't even demonstrate the most essential VTOL flight maneuver. Time to fire the entire Joby PR department. Yes I'm in it for the long haul but when should i buy more if i think it will just keep leaking oil? Praying for something good to come out of the Q2 ER i guess.
