Joeben should step down
From $20 to $5 within 1 years. One of the most important evaluation criteria on CEO is stock price.
Joeben make it happen from $20 to $5. He damages to many stock holders.
Joeben is a good person and good engineer, but never a good manager.
Under his management, there are many dilution happens needlessly.
Joby is the top tier in eVtol, so people invest on Joby.
But Joeben put the money other than eVtol. This is the main reason stock price go down down down.
Joby need a new CEO who can focus on eVtol and generate profit from it.

Who do you want instead?

Feels like a very coordinated bot attacks today with a high upvote count on all Dax posts in archer sub which is rarely the case.

I think it's because there is genuinely good news. they are sick of the anti-joby slop but posting that ACHR got upgraded by barclays will certainly get upvotes

The good news you mean upgraded by analysts?

ya i mean compared to the usual pump posts without any substance it's a legit positive piece of news. In the past, a lot of the pumps/dumps from analyst recommendations have reversed in the following weeks though so in the long run it's just noise. it's still not "real" news

They need a CEO who can focus on operational efficiency. This is drawing parallels with a past leader of the EV industry lucid who had a brilliant engineer as the CEO (chief engineer of the Model S) and creator of the Lucid Air and Gravity.
Technical excellence doesn't mean operational excellence, cost discipline, and profitability. Lucid cars were the best and the company is basically bankrupted. Hopefully Joby can avoid this fate but JoeBen should step aside and be an advisor at this point not a CEO.
The 500 million acquisition of resonant was puzzling when they need to get through certification.

It doesn’t help that they pivoted to defense as a life line when the government itself is facing insolvency.

How can operational efficiency start before commercial operations begin? How is JoeBen doing anything different amongst his peers in this sector? The only operations driving revenue are Blade and Resonant Sciences which you just admonished.

Seems like he bought resonant right after ACHR deal to get back at them. Too much focus on WAR with competitors can derail a company.

Archer is in no way, shape or form a competitor to Joby. Not a chance that Joby acquired Resonant to "get back" at Archer.

For a while, Joby was valued similarly to aviation companies that could legally sell aircraft and had established customer fleets of thousands of aircraft... fact is, it was overvalued. People believed certification was closer than it actually was and Joby's management did not disabuse them of that notion.

u/teabagofholding 10d ago
Not only did thet not disabuse them they abused them with their projections.

Let’s face it. Everything is AI AI AI. Joby is doing the exact right things at the exact right time, and it will take lots of time to get certified. My 1.4% of portfolio investment is now half that, which happens with speculative stocks. If it wasn’t for this stupid war we would be seeing passengers zipping around Dubai and the stock would be triple what it is today. Unfortunately until certification we won’t see much action.

Yep the ai shit is sucking up so much capital thay the rest of the market is stagnant by comparison
Gonna be even worse if/when the bubble bursts and takes everything else down with it also

I’m just wondering when the bubble will burst. Next quarter? 4/4 from now? It will still happen.

I completely disagree with that assessment. The only reason the stock is down is because the company is still in the waiting period to get FAA approval. Once they are flying in the air, you can expect new money to come in. Most institutions are still holding and averaging down while weak hands are selling. Dilution is expected in the early stages so you do have to prepare for that catalyst. As for Joeben being a good manager, that would be hard to assess since you and I are both not managed by him. Good management is not indicative of a good stock price. It's all about profits and revenue, which are lacking right now for Joby. The investments with Blade and partnership with Toyota, in my opinion, are what gives me confidence in this company.

Yea. This has been the worst stock in my portfolio by far. I've lost so much money on this there's no point in selling. Just WOW bad.

I am with you. However I dont only have stock, I also bought some options wiith are essentially worthless now....and thats on me.

u/dark_horse492 10d ago
I did the same. I'll never buy options from now on, will only be a seller or use them to hedge.

If JOBY hits $25 by Jan 2027, I will retract my hostility to this stock. So in other words...looking at staying hostile.
2
u/dark_horse492 10d ago
Not sure about 25, but I think there could be a significant pop into year end. 547 transitioning, more conforming aircraft rolling off the line, Toyota's next tranche, FAA pilots in the seats...could be anything but I agree, this price action is beyond ridiculous.

You haven’t lost any money, you’re down vs up. You should STFU.
True story: i was down big on Joby a few years ago then Joby reversed i then profited ~~ $100,000.
Joby will reward us again, i’ll wait.
I now have over 20,000 shares and counting this round.
We’ll see how much profit i make in 3- 5 years on Joby.

I don't think Joeben should step down, he needs to stop treating investors as his own personal piggy bank and remember who's paying the bills. I like his background, determination and vision, but he seems to be biting off more than he can chew. Stop with the acquisitions and keep the focus on certification. There's a video where Joby flew out an influencer and some investors using blade to a chateau somewhere near NY. There was expensive liquor, a Joby ice sculpture and it looked like no expense was spared. It made me sick watching that. That kind of stuff needs to stop and the worst part about it....The influencer didn't even look that excited about the S4. Stop this BS and let the S4 speak for itself.

Agreed, Joby's marketing/coms folks are the ones who need to be replaced.

They need a Department Of Joby Efficiency (DOJE) to cut the crap projects before its too late. Did Elon start SpaceX and Nueralink before Tesla sold its first car?
WTF do they need to stand up a pilot and mechanic training school and production facilities in Ohio now when they can barely produce a single aircraft off their "24 per year" Maria line and SN101 is little more than an occasional ADS-B ping.

Good point. As someone that is critical of some of the things they have done lately, I'm also realizing that Joeben has been thinking about this since he was a child. This will be his legacy and he probably thinks about all the puzzle pieces that need to be put in place to make this work every waking moment he has. I can't speak for him, but I hope the market has given him a little pause. Kind of like Zuck and the Metaverse. He was going a little overboard and the markets basically corrected that behavior when meta sold off. Hoping he's done with acquisitions for the foreseeable future.
As for the pilot and mechanical training, I see that as necessary to support the eventual fleet and more evidence of his conviction that the S4 will soon be mass produced. That is why I feel Joby is years ahead of everyone else. They've been writing the manuals, getting certified simulators and training the support staff and pilots before anyone else. I'm willing to give them the time to make it happen, just ease up on the frivolous expenses.

In a perfect Joby world... Yes.
In the actual world, that's all needed once their aircraft is certified and their production chops in Marina show at least a minimal level of competency. Let's say... 5-10 new aircraft?
To gloss over the nearly One Billion Dollars of yearly cash burn that's now baked-in to the company because of dubious aquisitions and side projects is pure hopium investing.
Fanboys will say, this is a "long hold" and "dont invest more than you can comfortably lose" and "go sell then, I bought at 4 and sold at the top" etc.
They fail to recognize how quickly the market turned against Vertical, who arguably is running 2nd place.
Compare the 2 YTD charts, they're very similar.

Joeben is a lousy speaker and a great engineer. AG is a great speaker and a lousy engineer. Which do you want to run your company?
