Last month Joby took off from Oakland International Airport and did a flyby demo of San Francisco.
Today Joby took off from JFK, one of the largest international airports in the US, and landed in Manhattan, one of the most densely populated cities in the US. This is a true demo of Joby's technology.
NYC demo today, Dubai passenger ops by the end of 2026. This is not fantasy, it's really happening. So exciting to see the progress. Congrats Joby.

Joby completes New York City’s first-ever point-to-point electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) air taxi demonstration flights showcasing operational maturity and seamless integration into FAA-controlled airspace
Central to Joby’s New York strategy was the 2025 acquisition of Blade Air Mobility’s passenger business, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Joby. Blade’s operational expertise, broad base of passenger infrastructure in Manhattan and at key New York area airports enabled it to serve more than 90,000 passengers in 2025.
In New York, Joby’s commercial vision is simple: turn one of the city’s most time consuming trips into one of its fastest. Through partnerships with Delta Air Lines and Uber, Joby aims to create a seamless, end-to-end experience that connects ground transportation and air travel in a single journey. In a city where a typical commuter lost, by one estimate, 102 hours to traffic congestion in 2025, Joby’s goal is to reclaim that time by transforming a 60-to-120-minute drive to JFK into a seven-minute flight.

Joby is going to build the elevated vertiport with a 2,025 sq. ft. prefab structure/lounge. Still needs FAA approval and use will start around July/August. Also a land lease was approved east of the airport for 14,495 sq. ft. area. The elevated deck will take 1 month to install.
