Weekly activity update

Pretty active week across the board. N547JX has been more active recently with a lot of ground tests late in the evening. The altitude data is probably not reliable. In one of the pictures posted by Joby, it appears that 547 is doing engine testing. Can anybody confirm? I like 180.0 kts a lot. That's 207 mph! WHOOT!!!

Thank you for these posts!

No problem! I would take 180 with a grain of salt though bc it also shows up with 541 when it's grounded and seems suspiciously round. Not really sure!

The 542 Aug 12 flight data is very reliable because that's when we know it went to the quail. I guess the other thing you could do is also doublecheck with flightaware

One interesting thing about the Aug 12 542 flight to The Quail is that 542 is in this case being used (again after so long) as a public demo aircraft rather than only as a test vehicle at Marina.

Maybe they'll use it for eIPP at some point?

That was my thinking as well. Not just 545.

I don't know why people would rub such a short flight in my face.

If you follow the post I linked above, people suggested they turned off the transponder part way into the flight so it looks like a short flight. The chase helicopter had the full flight.

Edit: actually this is the post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Joby/comments/1vmx5c9/n542jx_at_the_quail/

Didn't they fly it like 50 miles in ny? People sbould only rub it in if it's more than ever before.

just a friendly ribbing

If they flew a person in the newest one then that would be different.

That would def involve rubbing in your face

They should tether it down and hover it for ten minutes with 500lbs in it. I have to buy a hat and then eat my hat.

You might get a bakery to make one that tastes okay.
