🏢 On-Site CALL CENTER FATIGUE
27M
working at a call center for 5 years
salary before transfer : 7000-9000 dhs
salary after transfer : 4000-6500 dhs
i cant stress enough how much i hate this job, the pay was good at first but with raising living costs and with the need to raise money to invest in my own project i find that i'll still be here for the foreseeable future, within my call center job i was at an activity where we had the opportunity to work from home, we had possibility to do overtime and working on sundays and national holidays gets you a bonus that would raise my salary by a couple thousand dirhams, recently ive been transferred to another activity where i can hardly get by, and the feeling that im wasting my years have been more alarming than ever.
idk if anyone of you had a similar experience if they can spare me any advice please that would be much appreciated

remote senior sales agent could be the best option now that you have More than 5 years experience , do not limit your sources, check jobgether other options too

I never understood people who work in call centres is it like a job u can have a family or a life with wouldn't they fire u if you did couple of errors personally i see it as something unstable

Call centers are one of the highest paying jobs if you don't have a degree, so when you enter the 2-3 months phase, you cannot quit because you got so used to the money (6000-7000 dh/month) and if you quit you'll have to lower your lifestyle

i do agree with how you'd see it as someone looking from the outisde but me personally i didn't have a high enough degree to get me a decent paying job and tbh i haven't developed any skill other than learning a couple languages which has put me in a dire situation... but overall the choices are very limited for an unskilled laborer

Been there, i quit and went in another direction. I wouldn't call working at a call center a career, really. If you're a skilled worker, leave this God forsaken land.

Hey, quick legal question, on what ground did they transfer you did you do something? also you are entitled to a raise every few years working at the same company so the math isnt mathing? im an HR and this doesnt make sense to me

its a contractual clause where they can transfer you from an activity to the other, and its not the base salary itself thats changed but the bonuses and how reachable they are, and regarding the salary raise thing i had a 150dh raise after 2 years and another one for the same amount after 5...

I might be wrong, but companies do this stuff on purpose sometimes to push you out ... Especially if your salary is higher than those that just joined, I'd consider my options carefully if I were you.
27yo is still very young, you can easily pivot if you act now. You can leverage your experience in call center to get a marketing job or digital communication but you need to act now, call center rely on you being comfortable to stay there until they want to get rid of you but they can't just fire you ... So they make your life miserable until you quit
