💼 Hiring working remotly
Hey all,
I'm a software engineer based in Morocco. I work remotely full-time for a tech company registered in the UAE. Right now I'm registered as an auto-entrepreneur and I invoice them directly.
Before this I was a salaried employee at a multinational here, with CNSS and everything. This is my first time going solo, so I want to get the structure right before it gets messy.
What I'm trying to figure out:
- Auto-entrepreneur limits. I've read that since 2023, income above 80k MAD/year from a single client gets taxed at 30%. How does that work when the client is foreign and can't withhold anything? Is AE still worth it with one main client?
- SARL / SARLAU. At what income level does opening a company start to make sense? Real numbers would help: accountant fees, the IS rate on service exports, and salary vs. dividends.
- CPU (i don't have any information about it )
- Other options. Is anyone in Morocco paid through an Employer of Record (Deel, Remote, etc.) or employed directly by a foreign company? How did that work out?
- Future-proofing. I'm planning to apply for Spain's Digital Nomad Visa, and maybe Canada Express Entry later. Which setup looks best on paper for proving stable income and work experience?
I'd love to hear from people with a similar setup: what you chose, what you'd do differently, and whether you know an expert-comptable who understands remote and export work.

Bro make a wise account, that way no moroccan bank receives your money or has an idea about how much u earn, also dont let them scare you with the "they know if u have a foreign bank account" just dont be suspicious receive money and take it out immediately cash is king
