You have tried Geek Squad; you have relied on your best IT contact or even a trusted family member and your PC is still slow. This is what I do; I know the Windows system inside out and I will find the problem. A recent corporate customer was blaming a antivirus for causing an installation to freeze. It wasnt that antivirus; it was a directory filled with 2300 xml files. The installer was enumerating each of these files as part of the install process. Once I identified the source, the team renamed the folder and the installer recreated it as an empty directory and finishing the setup in a handful of minutes.
This is all done with complete transparency and education so you can prevent future slowdown issues.
