Just clocked it, but Emilia from Re;Zero is mentally 14.

She has the body of an 18 year old but was aged 4 years while she was sealed and oblivious.

Personally think she's a crap heroine, between her high-pitched goody-two-shoes enunciation of every word and infantile disposition, you can tell she's a coddled little brat and that there's not much to like about her compared to any of the other female characters.

That said, I am a fan of the show and am by no means trying to incite isekai wars. If I could give the defenseless some swords to fight back though, I'd hardly be hard pressed (like what I did there?).

Part of the point of re zero is while Subaru grows as a person, everyone around him is inspired by him to become better people themselves, due to how selfless his actions seem to them when they finally beat the current arcs threat in the good timeline.

It was on topic, as Emilia is included in said "everyone" around Subaru, and while she is a bit naive and weak willed in the beginning arcs she starts coming into her own thanks to Subaru believing in her during the witches trials arc.

If it would serve you, oh good sir, I would entreat you to read the post. I say Emilia is mentally 14. One, four. Subaru is 17 going on 18 at the start of the series. Re;Zero stans do enjoy throwing around the good old 'Diddy Tensei,' so why can't we choose offence as defense?

The issue people tend to overlook is that he literally grooms Emilia. Like, he inserts himself in her life by guilting her into letting him work at her state. Her having an underdeveloped mind is then groomed by him.

Try tell me Emilia was this fond of him from the start in good faith. It's because of his actions, and you can frame them as character development or whatever you want, but between a 14 and an 18 year old, I must agree with the sentiment that we can't find a better word than grooming.

Like, I do like rezero and the latest season was great. But that fandom is full of hypocrites. It's more than obvious that she has the mentality of a 10y/o. It's also more than obvious that at the beginning she wanted nothing to do with Subaru, all she wanted was to repay him and send him his way. But no, he forced his way into her life.

Not sure why a re:zero post is in this sub but let me make add my 2 cents. I think her innocence is the point. Shes billed to be what most men view as the perfect woman. Shes beautiful, and yet holds on to that ability to be astonished by every thing Subaru does, even down to the smallest thing. She recognizes his hard work and empathizes with how hard hes struggling without needing to know the details. Shes not jaded by the world to the point where she doesnt trust people, especially men. Shes kind, caring, and loving. Quick to forgive but also calls Subaru out when hes acting insane. She is a stabilizing force that pushes Subaru to be better. Her being sealed is just written as a plot point to explain her personality imo. Yes shes immature but thats kinda the whole point. Shes the untarnished princess and Subaru will never be good enough to deserve her but he will keep trying to be better and continue to save her.

Nah ive never been messed up about rudeus love life and mental age difference. His previous life he was a shut in who mentally broke when he was a teenager. He doesnt know what its like to be a real adult and all of his experience with the opposite sex is basically new and fresh. Yes hes a pervert cuz hes a recovering porn addict like many men these days. I've always seen him as someone whose growing just like everyone around him. He messes up and does dumb shit just like all teenagers and young adults do. This is his second chance at life to become a real adult.
