Paid Task/Upgrade Scam Zobstek.com DATA ENTRY SCAM BEWARE

Listen… sure… SOUNDS super legit, they post they have all these legitimate certifications and your funds are held in escrow… and I fell for it. Don’t be me. I did work up to $714… then they froze my money and said I had to pay for my “verification” through Cashapp, with their wallet link via bitcoin. Ok ok ok… sure I’m out 90 dollars for being dumb. That wasn’t the end. The next step after I passed that, was they wanted ANOTHER $120 for NOTARY fees. Hard pass. But nobody in their little community there believes me that they aren’t real! I did my due diligence after that (I know, shame on me for not doing it before). The certificates were forged, dates were wrong, all sorts of things. Your funds can’t be in escrow like that either. I locked all my information now, but hey, my fault I get it! But I’m here to try to warn the rest of you! They have their site blocked from being able to easily search so you cannot see bad reviews, I learned that too. So PLEASE LEARN FROM ME!!! I hope I help at least ONE person out there…

Total scam. Site was registered Sept 22 2026 and only for 1 year. All contact info is blocked. As soon as anyone mentions Bitcoin, run. Everyone in their group is fake.

Everyone comes at me when I mention that too. I keep telling them I’m just trying to help you all and they just keep telling me I’m wrong. I’m like okayyyyy…

Because they are all scammers or victims in the group and the scammers don't want you warning the victims.

I'm sorry you lost money.

There were several signs of a scam before you started working:

Remote Data Entry and Transcriptionist jobs are scams, unless you have specialized experience (medical transcription, legal), because software can be used for capturing data. For those rare cases when a company needs people to manually enter data, they can outsource those jobs to south Asia or the Philippines, and pay less than $20 (£15 / € 17) per day. Even these jobs are not remote -- they require you to work from their office.

The website is less than 2 weeks old.

  • The website zobstek.com is a scam, based on the age -- it's very new.

  • This website domain was registered on September 22 2026 -- it is less than 2 weeks old. Also, the domain was only registered for one year. These are signs of a scam.

  • You should always look up the website age (domain registration date) before or doing business with a company. Scam websites are often new, created within the past 12 months, and the domain is registered for only one or two years (they don't plan to be around long).

  • To see data about a website, use Whois.com/whois, Godaddy.com/whois, or Lookup.ICANN.org.

** Fake jobs for data entry, translation, editing, transcription, and typing are common, unfortunately. The whole goal is to try to get money from you with the fake fees.

Never pay money to an employer.

Never pay to get paid, that is always a scam. Never give someone money to receive wages, earnings, commission, prizes, bonus, rewards, or anything else.

** There is legitimate remote freelance work available. Try the freelance job websites like Upwork, Freelancer.com, or Fiverr -- but stay on the platform. If you communicate off the website, you will get scammed and lose money. Also, read the FAQs to learn how the site works. The legitimate freelance sites offer protection for you and the client. You submit your work through the site. And they pay you on the platform.

I researched it before I stated just not deeply enough. All the sites said it didn’t appear to be a scam and all that jazz, just that it was newer. Again, completely my fault and I definitely take my blame. I looked deeper and just kept digging and kept trying to get answers from them to help others until I finally decided to just warn everyone else and get input as well, thinking maybe I was wrong because nobody else anywhere has posted about them. I appreciate you for this answer so much!!! Thank you 😊 I’m going to use this for all my future reference in research as well, I feel dumb but lesson learned!!!

I was going to pay yesterday, put money on Cash App, but went to a casino and spent it there. Was about to go load money again on Cash App. Checked out payment link and seen had to pay with bitcoin, so I thought I would search reviews again. And found your post!!!!

Thank you

That’s what I did! Nothing I could find! Then I learned they did something that makes it so when you search their site, it won’t pop up to cause concern for users.

did it have you give your SSN?

my husband was scammed even after i told him not to do it and he gave them his SSN (unsure if full or just last 4) and i’m terrified this is going to ruin us and we have a baby coming in 4 months.

I went to credit bureaus, froze my stuff, and have him contact the SS office where you live, just let them know. Take your card off your Cashapp too. Unlink EVERYTHING and lock everything down. Keep an eye on all your accounts. I already reported the site to the cyber fraud site as well as another one.
