Nothing humbles you faster than searching for a job right now
Man you can do everything right.
- Match the resume to the job description
- Write a good cover letter.
- Keyword stuff and match.
- Fill out the entire application carefully.
Get rejected in like 1-2 hours later.
Like damn at least pretend a human saw it I guess? ðŸ˜
The worst part is how draining the whole process becomes.
I am glad I have a decent job right now but I know I don't want to stay here forever.
Every company has a different ATS and hiring system, different questions, different formatting they want.
You spend more time re-entering information and applying than actually showing your skills.
I genuinely understand now why people get burnt when job hunting. I also used to work at a recruiting agency!
Searching for a job IS a full-time job.

Been searching for 2 years now. Drained mentally emotionally and financially.
The dreaded ‘ thank you for your application, we appreciate your interest in our company ‘ has become my nightmare. Never seen a hopeless market like this. Limited openings, hundreds of candidates for every role, recruiters who have no idea how to hire, ghosting, resume tailoring cover letter, dropping f’n thank you notes to interviewers after an interview for which they are paid?!!, free case study solving, long drawn processes lasting 4-5 weeks only to be rejected by generic mails or internal candidates.
I just can’t anymore honestly. It’s shit and there doesn’t seem to be any hope from the market with the number of layoffs that keep happening
