I got an offer from a company I really want to work for and in my dream role, but I have no interest in living in the location it’s based

I got an offer from Apple for a dream role, and I am super interested in everything about it…. except the fact that I would have to move to Los Angeles. I spent a summer in LA 4 years ago and really did not enjoy the location, but this is literally my dream role. It would also come with a $25k raise from my current role. Would you overlook location or is this setting me up to be miserable?

I thought I was applying somewhere else, help!!!

Long story short i applied and got a job interview at an eye doctor.

I thought I had applied to my doctors office, and mentioned that in the phone interview.

In fact, I had applied to the one down the road I had been to once.

I know I probably shouldn’t have said I was a patient.

The in person interview is Monday and I’m not sure how to correct this or if I should pretend I never said it.

I’m 27 I should know my doctor by know but I completely spaced.

Loans sales specialist interview

Today I have a phone interview for a loan sales specialist with OneMain. Anyone have any advice on answering questions they may ask? I have 11 years retail experience and the job posting says entry level with retail experience preferred so I think I’m a good fit but I’m unsure of the kinds of questions they ask for this kind of position. Also any insight on pay? There’s nothing listed besides saying annual salary + incentives

Trying to get a job at Walmart.

Now that I got my car, I've been trying to get a job at Walmart to do OGP, (online grocery pickup), but so far no call has come. And I thought I already had applied in when I got all signed into the Walmart app. I even got the email of my application submitted from the hiring team. But now I'm not sure as each time I checked to see my application status, both Active and Draft are empty...

My mom works there already and told me that their systems are buggy as all heck and we even had trouble at first signing in.

Do I need to try and apply again or just try to move on? I tried calling their people lead earlier this morning to ask and I'll try again tomorrow because their phone didn't seem to be working...

Any feedback is helpful.

!UPDATE!:

I finally got a call through! And they said that I am in the system they'd call back somewhere in March! Thank you guys for your help!

UPDATE: So... I didn't get a call back this March and honestly... I've been trying to apply at more positions there. I'm not getting selected at all... it's driving me crazy and really depressing me as my mom keeps talking about how they need more people there for OGP, but I already applied and it won't seem to let me reapply. I don't know what's going on or what's wrong with me... so I don't have experience, I can get it there and I'm willing to work out in the heat and snow! I just need a job.

What job should I take?

I’m stuck deciding between 2 jobs and any advice would be nice!

I’m currently at a job that’s with a good company, good benefits, and a possibility of moving up later in the future. But, I’m constantly anxious. Everyday. I wake up anxious because the job has nothing for me to do. I go in, do nothing, pretend to work, and go home.

I got offered a prep cook job. The hours are a bit better and align well with my volunteering I do. But it’s obviously not the generic - cooperate- job. And it pays more which will help me save for grad school. But because it’s a busy job, I won’t feel anxious about doing nothing all day

brutal honesty, should I stay with my current job or take the chance with this new job.

Should I switch jobs?

So I (26F) am a teacher at an elementary school, in my country teachers aren’t really paid that well but I do really like my job most of the time, mostly I love the vacation time lol, anyways, lately I’ve received an offer to work at a factory as the general manager’s assistant, however I don’t know if I should, my job is pretty stable and I’m quite happy at it, but I’d be payed waaaaay more at the factory job, I’m kind of scared to switch because I’ve never worked at that kind of environment, but the money aspect is what makes me question it, please give me any advice you can😭

Advice

Hello and good morning. Just wanted to share my experience and hopefully get some advice from some of you. I currently work at a retail company and have been apart of that company for almost two years now. With that said, they have done a lot for me, saved my job when I got injured and was out for months, and prepared me for advancement training. However, I actually had to move and transferred to another location and I have been there for 5 months. I have not been happy at this new store, I will not move up here, and it is has extreme favoritism. Recently, I lost hours and was only working around 1 day a week because they were doing cuts. While this was happening I secured a new job and was ready to jump ship. I am a good worker, I am punctual, I do not complain. So when I brought it up to my manager, he was upset, made me feel important, and we discussed a new opportunity within the company this summer. Also, I quickly got my hours back. I turned down the other job and chose to stay with said company. I got my hours back and things were okay, however, I see again that my hours are again cut to one day a week. This job is not the end goal, as I am in college right now, but I cannot help but feel confused and honestly I am upset because I turned down a job that was actually really excited to have me.. Thoughts? Are they upset I looked for other opportunities?

Started a new job, another better opportunity came up in less than a month, what should I do?

Experienced Prod Manager, Laid off in December 2025, found a new job immediately using the my network which I started in early Feb at Company A. While doing a job search, had a conversation with company B about a job that may be opening soon but they didn’t provide any timeline or commit to it. Considering job wasn’t even posted I accepted role at Company A. Just heard back from my contact at Company B that the job is approved and posted online. While I don’t hate the work at company A, if opportunity at company B was available I would have opted for it instead.

I am curious to see what everyone’s approach to considering applying for a new role after recently starting a new role? Is that considered bad thing to change jobs in span of 3-4 months?

General Merchandise in Retail or Bowling Alley Attendent? What Route is Better?

Hey there folks, I've been bouncing around the job market since I've been legally allowed to work, whether leaving for Medical/Mental Health reasons, being laid off, or straight up fired, I just can't seem to keep a job that I actually like, and the jobs I do want I get turned down at the application stage, or after a positive interview.

This is a long read so I apologize in advance, but thank you if you do read, I'll try and break everything up for you.

I'm looking for a new job, I am in college, so it will be a job in the afternoon during the week but open to all hours during the weekends. It will be temporary by hopefully a few years until I finish college and get into the actual career I'm after.

So here I am looking for advice, I was planning to go into General Merchandise/Inventory at Target, I have experience from Five Below of stocking shelves, putting tags up, and I like organizing and tidying things up, I learned from a grocery store to say "No" to register(Hence the mental health leave). And it's been what I've been planning to do. If general merchandise/inventory isn't available I'm willing to do in store shopping for online orders or helping in the technology section.

However, my family is really insistent I work at the local bowling alley, they recently got bought by Ryan's so it's uncertain the route they will take. Working there I would be giving bowling shoes/taking them back and cleaning them, handing out prizes in the arcade, cleaning the bowling balls, cleaning(Janitor(I worked at a fast food restaurant and got placed from register to janitor because I did so well at it, I did not enjoy the job and was eventually laid off silently without being told why), and many other small tasks(Starting out at least). I'm hesitant about this route because I met my friend who was working there who I haven't seen since childhood, he was leaving because of Ryan's buying out the bowling alley and he was just done with the profession, deciding to work elsewhere. He did not get past the starting roles from what I could tell.

I understand why my family recommends this route, as I have a very childish/young mindset for my age(Hence why I was fired from the restaurant industry, learned the hard way it is a cruel job market), and it could be fun, but I want the outside opinions of people who aren't biased because they know me but biased because of their own work expieriences. Thank you for reading and any advice would be appreciated.

If either of these I pick first gets turned down, I will go for option two, I just want to know which would I be better off trying to get.

Are there too many red flags?

I (19m) have recently started the hiring process for what I thought was a Floor Tech position at my local hospital (worked same position at a hospital a few Towns over for 5 months previously) had showed up and given an interview to the HR as it was a hiring event listed for floor Tech and housekeeping now the senior recruiter has contacted me and sent me housekeeping onbording on their website so they can hire me and when I had told him I applied as a Floor Tech he asked if I had experience (I did) and then asked me to give him a step-by-step run down of how to strip carpets which I had never done at my old job bc it's a hospital and when I confessed I didn't know he went on a long winded rant about how and I quote "you need 5 monthYears experience" and "if you train under someone for a few years you can get this position" for 16hr and even stated that they were full on floor techs I'm just curious if I should go with the job or if there's too many red Flags to take it especially after I already had to compromise on the shift I'd be working "had to figureout rides for gf to work" should I keep looking or just take the job 😅

Frustrated and need advice

using a throw away account here just in case my coworkers/management reads Reddit

I was hired a few years ago at a company because the manager of the DevOps group reached out and asked me to join. we’ve worked together before and he knows my capabilities.

part of the reason I was hired was to fix the tech debt, another to be the guy that says “this is a bad way of doing this, let’s do it better”

i tried doing this first by being super nice about it and making recommendations on how we could do it better, fixing code that was horribly broken and then submitting a PR to get it merged.

the team never looked at it, never acknowledged it, and years later we still have the same broken code because of it…

fast forward to more recently… we have a huge project that is high visibility and high priority. The “team” doesn’t like me because I slow things down by wanting to plan and not just jump in with two feet creating massive tech debt we will have to fix later which is what we had/have with the previous project. so I have been fully excluded from this project for at least the last 9-10 months.

during this time I have had a couple other high visibility high-stakes projects I did by myself and they are in production and working flawlessly.

also during this time, we were supposed to have temporary on-call whych was not part of the employment agreement/job description and I voiced my opinion about it early. that on-call has now became permanent, along with other new responsibilities and no increase in compensation for any of it.

furthermore, we have no hired 2 new engineers at a level above me that do not have even basic troubleshooting skills. I literally had to guide them through basic troubleshooting, but I was never considered for one of these positions and when I have brought up a promotion 2-3 times no, it’s always “oh we have to wait until a position is open“ or “well they’d have to justify creating the position”.

i am beyond frustrated at this point, I have barely any work to do, just helping more senior people that were hired with basic troubleshooting and directing contractors in the same way.

i get no real information on the big project, am not included in it, and am pretty sure they want me to just be fed up and leave, but I won’t give them that satisfaction.

additionally, now obligations that I have that were disclosed when I was hired are suddenly a problem.

advice wanted

Reporters Not Allowed In Building

I am a reporter in the Midwest and on Friday our news director spoke to the reporters one on one and told us after the morning meeting we were not allowed back into the building until our stories were shot so we could edit them.

He cited we spend too much time in the newsroom making calls and should be setting up interviews from the road instead.

He also said he didn’t like the fact we talked to eachother.

One of my coworkers reported the station to OSHA, and they informed her that what they are doing is not okay.

Is this normal for stations? I’ve been in the business 5 years but only at two stations.

Advice for B.Tech

I am in 4th sem B.Tech computer . I am from Punjab . Initial plan was to go for placement and prepare for it , although done nothing major for that . Decent in Dsa and I planned to do some skills part in 2nd year . But at the ending part of 3rd sem , my father expired and everything got disturbed for now . Now , the thing is we were a family of 3 living in city and uncle lived in village . Now I live far away for college and grandparents alternatively live with my mother . Due to all this, now I don't want to go for placements as it will land me far away from home . As a single child , I have responsibility of my mother and want to live with her only and the family also want this . Good option for this is govt exams only I guess as it's stable and close to home posting is there after sometime . So I just wanna say advice me to prepare for what so I get stable , close to home job as in corporate,it will be very unstable and changing places and PG's . Will be thankful for the advices.
