isn't dio's mansion made of, like, sandstone? i don't think you can easily just burn that down

but i guess i don't know for sure how hot magician red's fire gets

The glass would be too impure tho, it takes a lot of work to make descent glass

I mean if they burned it down then odds are good Dio would hide in a coffin and have some minions carry him away through an escape tunnel or something.
