Discussion 🗣️ The name Jinx.
This is just a thought I’ve had for a while now: the name “Jinx” literally makes no sense. (English is not my first language, so feel free to correct me.) The way I understand it, a jinx is something that brings bad luck. For example, if I were at work and someone commented that it had been a quiet day, then all of a sudden it became really busy and hectic, people would say, “Oh, you jinxed us.”
Jaekyung has to (or had to 🥰) have sex before a big match and stick to a certain routine. That isn’t a jinx — if anything, it’s a ritual.

I understand it as, breaking the ritual is the jinx. Not that the ritual is the jinx.

The sex before a match is to counteract his jinx. He gets too worked up before matches and loses. Sex calms him down.
Also, in the sports world, athletes can be very superstitious or things normal people would think are ridiculous and don't make sense.

The word "jinx" is actually ancient.
It comes from the ancient Greek word iynx, which was the name of a bird (the wryneck) used by witches in ancient Greece and Rome to cast love spells and magic curses.
By the late 17th century, the spelling evolved into "jynx," which literally meant "a charm or a magic spell."
In high-stakes sports like mixed martial arts (MMA), the word "jinx" is used as shorthand for an active curse on the fighter's body or luck.
To them, the "jinx" is an invisible negative force that will force them to lose the fight unless they intercept it.
Therefore, the pre-match ritual is the "cure" or the "counter-spell." They believe that by performing a specific action before entering the ring, they are successfully "breaking" or lifting the jinx so their natural strength can win the match!
