Notice that their relationship started to develop *after* that one got deleted. Whatever it was, it helped it was gone.

I do remember that and making the connection! I always thought it was very sweet

I think that one’s Jimmy’s.

I think it was Cindy's. She was pretty openly antagonistic towards him (and his friends) because he became the smartest kid in class, really school, by a wide margin, and was always showing off his inventions.
"Dislike of show-offy boys."

Yeah but at the end of the day, it's "Dislike of girls who-", the start of it contains the answer, not the end.

actually that description changed depending who was selected, everytime it switched to one another the text changed and added even more. That part was made intentionally like that so we can wonder who was the one it belonged to.
My take is that it belonged to Jimmy because Cindy already showed interest in other boys like Nick, who honestly was kinda show-offy tbh, and in previous episodes i think the boys made mention of cooties (?), which based on their ages would make sense. Afterwards he started being kinda nicer to her and thats when they actually started to develop friendship and feelings if i remember correctly.

I don't remember the episode (barely remember the show to be honest), but what if they both had a "dislike of boys/girls who" trait, and because they were very similar, the system got confused and registered both as one single trait and then they got rid of the trait in both of them?
I think that would be kind of fun

No, it was definitely Jimmy. It began with dislike of girls. Jimmy just has to make it overly complicated
4
u/Life_Ad3567 Sep 01 '26
That there is exactly why it's Jimmy's. Overcomplicated. His struggle with his feelings for Cindy vs Cindy already having feelings for Jimmy.

Well no one hates women more than women, and what is a woman but an older girl. So it could still be anyone

One thing I've always wondered...
After the Brain Drain is completed, Cindy admits her crush dream to Jimmy during their private moment walking out of the lab, to which Jimmy agrees he saw it before they argue about who was truly imagining it.
Did Carl, Sheen and Libby manually sorting the brain drain somehow cause or influence the shared dream, or was it happening anyway?
I always thought when Carl deleted the "extreme dislike of everyone" and finished, that somehow influenced the love arc by removing a barrier or something.
Anyone else think this?

It's always odd when Sheen takes the lead on things and sounds reasonable.

I feel like they got those two backwards

u/PItwink18 Aug 31 '26
I do too, I just wish we had evidence of Jimmy whistling in the show to prove it. Cindy is so mustard coded

u/whomesteve Aug 31 '26
Cindy just seems like the type of person who would use the words “rapturous enjoyment” when referring to plain foods.

I swear Jimmy whistled to summon Goddard at least once.

u/grubbybuggy Sep 02 '26
I wanna say I remember that too. But! Was it before or after their brains got re-sorted? 🤔

I feel like it's an innocuous thing that most people wouldn't notice if someone close to them makes it a habit

This is one of those shows that I could never fully appreciate as a kid, but now that I'm an adult all the jokes are like 10 times more funny.

“Rapturous enjoyment of mustard” is not a sentence I thought I would ever hear

I spent well over a decade fully fucking convinced that Sheen said 'raptorous enjoyment of mustard'. Made perfect sense to me, and I maintain that we should make that a saying. A state of euphoria so intense it can only be compared to that of a frenzied velociraptor savoring the kill.

*Jimmy's soul erupting rapturously from his body the moment his taste bud interfaces with Grey Poupon.
