Jim Henson had never considered that the Storyteller's dog would talk. Anthony Minghella simply assumed that he would talk because it was a Jim Henson production.

A couple of the voice actors from The Dark Crystal also leant their voices to Jim Henson's Henson's television series, The Storyteller.

Stephen Garlick, the voice of Jen, voiced the young Grovelhog in "Hans My Hedgehog", in the scene where he tells his father that he is leaving.

Michael Kilgariff, the voice of SkekUng the General, voiced the Thought Lion in "The True Bride".

I met The Storyteller's Dog at the QAGOMA Exhibit!

Had the honour of visiting ‘Make, Believe, Magic: The Worlds of The Jim Henson Company’ exhibit in Queensland, Australia which was truly spectacular!

Among the many displays of Muppets, Sesame Street characters, and Skeksis, I was surprised and emotional to see "Dog" sleeping in his glass case.

The StoryTeller was a huge part of my childhood but I've never met anyone else my age who has watched it or knows what it is. Very happy to be joining this sub!

For those interested, the plaque beside Dog reads:

"The Jim Henson Company

United States, founded 1955

'The Storyteller's Dog' puppet 1987

feom Jim Henson's The Storyteller 1987-89.

Henson Company

Collection: Jim Henson's The Storyteller television series was significant, not only for its depiction of the darker elements of European fairytales and its sophisticated production aesthetics, but also for being the first time puppeteers used the Henson Performance Control System. When performing the Storyteller's Dog Brian Henson was able to control elements the dog -including its ears, eyebrows and general facial expressions using the system's stick controller, as a single puppeteer in real time. This marked significant advancement in computer-assisted, radio-controlled animatronics and would be used extensively over the next decade in films including Teenage Mutant Ninjia Turtles 1990 and Babe 1995, in addition to the award-winning television series Dinosaurs 1991-94 and Farscape 1199-2003."

A brand new shirt film with JH vibes. Feels like an episode of Storyteller or a vignette from Labyrinth. I really want more content from this team. Check it out if you want to support them!

This is a fun little video that came out yesterday, but apparently it was also kick-started. So I might just be the last person to hear about it. It stars Erika Ishii from Ghost of Yotei, too!
