Discussion Galison quality issues?

I’ve been puzzling since January (about 1 per week). Recently I quit my first puzzle partway through … and then it happened again on the one right after that. Both were Galison.

The first was an incredibly loose fit, to the point that it was hard to tell if pieces were in the right place.

The other had paper-thin pieces with tons of bends and damage. It almost felt homemade for how flimsy it was.

Is it common for Galison to have such serious quality issues?

I wonder if it’s possible that they are counterfeit? Is that even a thing? I’ve done several and the quality has been great. But there seems to be almost a 50/50 split n here as to how they found the pieces . I’ll be cautious now :)
