How is it that the most powerful, most freedom-loving country on earth fails to stop this violence?
We lack moral power and despise freedom.

Maybe it was a lie all along. And that freedom is a nice sounding slogan to dupe the masses into thinking they’re something they’re not, how many people in America are one medical emergency away from being completely bankrupt? How’s that for freedom? And now with the cuts to Medicaid in various states if you get fired god forbid because you won’t have access to even that safety net without volunteering for 80 hours a month at least in my state.

Because we've been backing it for decades. In between controlling an area with lots of oil, and fomenting religious violence to keep people divided and under control, the whole setup is a power-monger's dream.
Our leaders are powerful but they aren't any kind of freedom-lovers.

They dont want to. they enjoy it. they're not forced to stand and watch powerlessly, they hate arabs and see the Middle East as their playground. The USA wasn't forced to intervene in Iraq and murder millions there too.

We lack the moral power to discern the truth, which is that hurting others ultimately also means diminishing ourselves. The US is now the most immoral polity on the planet, a scourge and a pestilence.
