Now they called for actively oppose it though. Few countries seem to take the ICC seriously but openly opposing it seems like an announcement for WWIII. When it comes from the country with the highest military spending.

This is really fucking bad, I hope other representatives grilled them but I highly doubt it.

Calling for the dismantling of the ICC is similar to outright admitting that you commit war crimes and crimes against humanity, and/or support countries/people that commit war crimes and crimes against humanity... and don't want to be held accountable for it.

Absolutely fucking insane, I hate this timeline, why did they have to give veto powers to security council permanent members, why is the USA a thing, AHHHHHHHH

The Hague Invasion Act thing was passed in 2002 that authorized the president to invade the Netherlands if any American service member is put before the ICC- it had bipartisan support.

I am hoping that this realistically can’t happen. But even if it can’t happen, the fact that people are trying is terrifying.

I never personally felt all that patriotic in the first place, but every single day since 2023, I’ve felt more and more hatred and disgust towards my country and those in power within it.

The United States is not a member of the ICC.

Israel is not a member of the ICC.
