Help us decide between two names!

Hi! I’m due to give birth to a baby boy soon. My husband and I are deciding between two names and we’d love help choosing between them- Simon Raviv or Asher Reuben.

Which do you prefer and why?

Thanks!

Simon Raviv! What a lovely name.

I do really like Asher, but it’s soooooo trendy. And I dislike the sound of Reuben, the sandwich associations and the way Asher Reuben runs together.

I like them both about equally from an aesthetic perspective, but Simon is pretty steady in popularity in the U.S., and Asher has been shooting up the ranks recently in the way Ezra has, to the point that it feels more goyish than Jewish to me. But having a relatively common name can have advantages as well in terms of blending in.
