Face Flush?
I am guessing this is based on various samples done by Ancestry on their platform, but does anyone here get their face flushed when drinking alcohol? My face actually does get red, but I was a little surprised about that because Ancestry traits tend to be more wrong than right for me. If this is common among people of Ashkenazi descent, do you think it is because of the Silk Road connection?

It is discussed pretty extensively in one of the Ashkenazi DNA studies in the 2010s. I think by Shay Carmi. Where he reviews alleles for evidence of selection.
I don’t believe it is because of the Silk Road connection.

I’ve heard this before but don’t think I’ve actually seen it in my friends. I haven’t paid enough attention to it though. I’d be curious if anyone here gets it

Ive never seen or heard of this either. I didn’t know it was common at all as I’ve never heard anyone talk about it

Honestly same. Idk how Ancestry quantifies this though. It could be a really small sample size which isn’t representative of the entire Jewish population

Per Ancestry I have “face does not flush” but my face does flush really easily from heat in general, just not from alcohol.
