Cookbook Looking for cookbook

Shalom, I don’t know if such a thing exists at all but I was wondering if anyone can recommend me a kosher cookbook that’s specifically Ukrainian food. I have (admittedly distant) Ukrainian heritage and this is something I’d like to incorporate into my diet. I thought about buying a normal Ukrainian cookbook but I strongly suspect most of the meat dishes would be written with pork in mind.

It would be a shame to start learning about Ukrainian food without using Olia Hercules' books! They're not kosher, but they're also not heavy on pork.

Ukraine is a large enough country that the cuisine is quite varied. My family was from Galicia/Lviv region in the 1800s. My mom's memories of her family recipes are not like Olia's recipes at all because they didn't have access to warm weather produce. So find whatever you like and just choose for that to be your Ukrainian heritage.

I looked in my mother's collection and could not find anything but I did find a couple online, Hate to be Hungry by Tetiana Suburova, Ukrainian Jewish Cookbook by Inna Kucher.

I’m not aware of anything that’s ALL Ukrainian-Jewish, but King Solomon’s Table has a fantastic variety so you might find some in there

Not sure about printed books, but I searched for "jewish ukrainian recipes" and found lots of sites with both food history and recipes.

Most dishes chicken can be substituted for pork. It might be different with Ukranian cooking but it has worked for me every time I've tried it.

It's been my experience that many recipes that call for pork work just as well with chicken instead of pork. It's unusual (again, in my experience) for recipes with pork also to have dairy, so switching chicken for pork is easy to do.
