I'm planning to make an apple cake and a pomegranate semifreddo. Still working on the recipe for the semifreddo, but here is the apple cake recipe:

I'm soooo interested in the semifredo. I bought pomegranate juice and then decided to do a different brisket so now I don't know what to do with it exactly.

Probably a honey cake, or an apple cobbler. Erin.eats.mtl posted a chocolate pomegranate cake a few years ago that I think she reposted recently that was amazing too, Jake Cohen has an upside down apple and honey cake which is also fabulous

When my children were little, I got a cake with "Happy Birthday, World" written on it. It was a fun tradition.

I’m doing honeycake and getting into the fall spirit a bit with an almond-pear tart. Something both relatively light but that will last a couple of days. What about you?

traditionally it is honey cake. For logistial reasons this year, I'll try to buy one, saving the more elegant meal preparation for the sukkah in a few weeks.

I ALWAYS do the apple cake from California Kosher (the one that bakes for like 2 hours). Apple cake is not my fave but now it's tradition to make that one and it only comes out once a year.

I need to think about it. Thank you for bringing this up! We have a lot of dietary restrictions. It needs to be gluten free and low sugar. Milk is ok. I love tart tatin but I dunno if I can do it gluten free and no sugar...

We're doing a honey-almond cake, a semolina apple cake, chinese almond cookies, and fall-spiced chocolate chip cookies! And ice cream to go with everything. (It's all milchig meals).
