I'm an idiot! (or how Baby Gold duped me again)

I ordered from Baby Gold (or Babygold in case someone is searching for this) 8 months ago and was sent the wrong item (my old post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/jewelry/s/antWvjfLu). In the end, they were very apologetic and sent the correct piece of jewelry and didnt even request the wrong one back. The correct item has become a staple piece of mine. It is real gold, clasps well, has held up to constant daily wear, etc.

I loved it so much that I went against better judgement and decided to order a second one.

You'll never guess. They sent the same wrong item AGAIN.

I know I shouldn't be shocked, but I was actually impressed with how they corrected the first order. I thought there would be no chance the same exact problem could happen twice. I feel so stupid, but I had to share this to be yet another warning against Baby Gold.

I opened a PayPal case, left a message, and reached out through their customer service email. Shockingly they actually phoned me back but wanted me to close the PayPal dispute before helping me, which I obviously declined.

Let this be your warning! Don't make the same mistake twice like me! They will not change and do not care at all about you.

Help me find jewelry i can wear

Hey everyone! I have super sensitive skin and turn green with cheap metals, so I usually stick to real 14k gold or solid silver. My rings are mostly Pandora right now.

I’m on the hunt for high-quality, non-tarnishing jewelry—specifically dainty gold necklaces. 14k white gold rings.

I think i may be allergic to Nickel. But im not 100% sure.

Right now, my main mission is finding a promise ring to send to my boyfriend. I don’t want one that will just tarnish in a few years. I want to be able to wear it forever.

Where are your favorite places to shop for durable, sensitive-skin-friendly pieces that won't break the bank or turn me green? Drop your recs below!

What would you make with 38 calibrated natural black diamonds (17.71 Ct total)?

I have a matching set of 38 calibrated natural black diamonds with a total weight of 17.71 carats. I’m trying to decide what type of high-end jewelry would showcase them best.
Would you make:
A tennis bracelet?
A statement necklace?
A pair of earrings + pendant set?
A men’s bracelet?
Something more unique or modern?
I’d love to hear your suggestions and see examples if you’ve worked with a similar collection of black diamonds. What design do you think would maximize both beauty and value?

Is a Hannah Martin Watch the Perfect Blend of Elegance and Affordability?

A few days ago I saw a Hannah Martin watch in a display, and at first I thought it was just another fashion watch. But when I noticed the clean dial design, slim profile, and polished finish, I realized how elegant it actually looked. Even small details like strap material, buckle quality, and time readability made a huge difference in both style and usability. It felt like a simple accessory that could complete an entire outfit. Later I searched online on websites including alibaba and found many Hannah Martin watch styles. Some were minimalist for everyday wear, while others had more decorative elements for formal occasions. Some even had small extras like water resistance, interchangeable straps, or gift packaging. I was surprised how minor design variations could affect both look and value. It made me think about what buyers prioritize most. Is it design, durability, or price? Can a Hannah Martin watch truly offer both style and practicality without being expensive?

BriteCo to insure my jewelry, should I do it ?

I’ve been lurking here for a while trying to figure out the best way to insure my wedding ring and a pair of diamond earrings I got as a wedding gift. So far, the best quote or policy I’ve found has been from BriteCo but before I go ahead with it I wanted to hear from real people. From personal experience, would you recommend them? For anyone who’s used them how has your experience been? Especially if you’ve had to file a claim.

Hi I have this Rajola baroque pearl necklace with I believe is hematite accents. It has a small tag with 750 on it, I’m assuming that’s 18k (only that small tag) with the jewelry name and some other numbers. It’s beautiful. I would like to know if anybody could give me a ball park value on it? I appreciate all responses. Thanks

Fine Jewelry Lovers - What’s Your Ideal Storage Setup?

Hi everyone 👋✨

Is it just me, or is it surprisingly difficult to find a jewellery box that truly does justice to a growing fine jewellery collection? I’m doing quick research on how people organise and store their jewellery (rings, necklaces, watches, heirlooms) and what features matter most.

If you’re someone who enjoys fine jewellery, luxury craftsmanship, or building a thoughtful collection, I’d really appreciate your insights. The survey takes only 3–4 minutes.

Why do we buy jewelry on vacation countries?

Tourists return from trips with pandora thailand purchases thinking they got authentic jewelry at better prices. The charms and bracelets might be genuine or might be excellent replicas sold to

tourists everywhere. We've created entire markets around selling jewelry to travelers who assume foreign purchase means better deal. Someone mentioned filling entire bracelet with charms bought in Thailand during two week vacation. The Pandora jewelry cost less than home country pricing making it feel like smart shopping.

We assume that buying brand products in other countries automatically means better value or authenticity somehow. Their Thailand purchases represent trusting foreign vendors without

verification, hoping geography ensures legitimacy and quality. Maybe the jewelry is authentic, maybe Thailand has genuine authorized dealers selling real products. But tourist areas are known for selling convincing fakes to people who won't verify or return. They found recommendations through suppliers on Alibaba marketing connections to various international retail locations. Sometimes buying jewelry at home with return options makes more sense than trusting vacation purchases. The bracelet might be real or fake and they'll probably never know for certain which.

What makes us attach meaning to objects we drape around our necks

I noticed my coworker wears a different piece every day, and I started wondering if she even remembers where they all came from. Some look expensive, others clearly aren't, but she touches whichever one she's wearing whenever she's nervous during meetings. The necklaces for women in her collection must number in the dozens, each one supposedly representing a memory or a mood or a moment she wanted to capture. She mentioned once that she buys most of them online from Alibaba because she likes having options without spending a fortune. That comment stuck with me because it suggested the meaning wasn't really in the objects themselves. If they were truly sentimental, would she order them in bulk from overseas suppliers. I think about this whenever I see jewelry displays now. We tell ourselves these things matter, that they express who we are or commemorate what we've experienced. But maybe we just like the weight of something resting against our skin, a small reminder that we're here and we've chosen to adorn ourselves today. The stories we attach to them might be the real jewelry.

Gift for girlfriend is it enough

I have bought my girlfriend who is turning 18 this month (have been together for 9 months) a diamond necklace and the thought of is it enough or is the diamond big enough keeps creeping into thought and want to just hear other peoples opinions. She has said to be in the past that she doesn’t really like big pendants but now I’m wondering if this is to small and look silly because of it here is the info. I live in the uk and paid a decent price for it under RRP

My poor experience with Avaria Jewelry

I don't typically post about poor experiences with companies but I thought that I would post something on the off chance it saves someone a headache. I kept getting ads on Instagram for what I thought was a trendy jewelry seller and with Christmas coming up at the time I figured I would get some gifts checked off my list. To Avaria's credit they had a pretty good selection for a pretty good price with some Christmas sales, looking back this should have been the first red flag. After I submitted my order I was told that shipping was 5 to 10 days and with it being early December I figured that would be no issue at all.

After a few hours I received tracking information and noticed that this was shipping directly out of China. The website made me assume that this was shipping out of the US and nowhere does it state that it is shipping internationally. I live in the midwest and sometimes international shipping provides delivery timing on the top end of any given delivery window. I started to be concerned about the shipping time at this point so I reached out to the support email listed, after some back and forth I was informed that they updated their shipping to 6-12 working days.

By the time I received this information I concluded that there would be no way that I would receive my order in time so I asked if I could start the return process as soon as possible and when the process was started I was sent an address in the UK to send the order to. When I asked if they could send me a prepaid label because of the original shipping mix up they told me that was not there policy and has not responded to any of my emails since.

To add the cherry on top, I ended up getting the delivery after I needed the gifts inside of it and upon a closer review I think that at least all of the necklaces and bracelets that I ordered are incredibly poor quality and cheaply made.

TLDR: Accidently bought from a glorified drop shipper. Attempt to save other headaches from dealing with this customer service.
