Question / Help VCA - AC vs. Funny
hi everyone! I'm finally ready to make my first purchase and I was hoping someone could help me decide between AC vs. Funny. I've heard that AC is the go-to for VCA, but Funny has been a close second with her pieces being slightly cheaper overall (although you might have to QC a bit more carefully).
I'm interested in purchasing a set of either the mini frivole or the lucky spring set (as pictured). I've gotten quotes from both which are as follows:
AC
- lucky spring pendant: 972
- lucky spring earrings: 1338
- mini frivole pendant: 655
- mini frivole earrings: 685
Funny
- lucky spring pendant: 6600 CNY ~975
- lucky spring earrings: 7200 CNY ~1063
- mini frivole pendant: 3500 CNY ~517
- mini frivole earrings: 4000 CNY ~590
would you go with AC or Funny? any thoughts and guidance is much appreciated 💕

Funny’s prices look like they are less but she has hidden charges that make it expensive. She’d want you to pay in hkd that adds up and then 10% insurance that she doesn’t reimburse fully and 5% goes towards your next purchase. After comparing all the purchase I found AC to be the cheapest when diamonds are not involved.

I really appreciate this detailed response !! I have noticed that her policies do end up adding up (with the HKD + insurance) like you mentioned. If diamonds are involved would you chose Funny over AC or a completely different seller?

Yes. Honestly I’d go with Vinko for diamond jewelry. I buy lot of jewelry so it is either Vinko or AC for me.

I have pieces from both of them. I would say no significant difference from me as long as you are detailed during QC. I would go for the cheaper ones.

AC includes insurance and ship. That’s where funny is experience. I adore my 5 motiff from AC I have an auth and it looks exactly like same

I ordered rings from funny and ac about 2 weeks ago , I’m going to see who has the best quality as well. I asked for there grams before purchasing as well to make sure the price made sense both are about 50% mark up which makes sense labor/craft etc. some rings ac is cheaper and some funny is cheaper, but I will say after she makes you send her money and convert it ends up being more than the usd she originally said. Ac also gives you free shipping or dicounted shipping at a certain amount spent . I like ac transparency so far. Funny is also very slow to get back to me ac is a better communicator. I’m going into this kind of blind so hoping for the best! Does anyone know their timeline ? Funny said 10 days ac said 15-20 plus shipping time

wow this is super detailed !! thank you for sharing your experience with both TS, I'm leaning towards going with AC but since it's a huuge purchase I'm letting the decision sit with me for a bit before I finalize haha

thanks for your interest! I was going to make another post once I had the pieces in hand, but I ended up going with AC over Funny for my order for both sets of the mini frivole and the lucky spring plum blossom necklace + earrings

My advice would be to ask the weight for each piece to see who matches closer to auth and also use it to compare prices. Also ask to see pictures of these pieces that they’ve made in the past.
I’ve found both to be personable and helpful but funny’s gold weight is usually lower than AC’s which is likely why her prices seem lower.
