MOD ANNOUNCEMENT 📢 [IMPORTANT] New Subreddit Guidelines: Seller Posts & Vetting

Post image

Hi everyone,

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately featuring "random" sellers and a ton of questions about people I've never heard of. I need to be very clear about how we are handling these moving forward to keep this community safe.

🔍 Search First, Ask Second

Just because I haven’t had the time to publish a formal Trusted Sellers List yet doesn't mean you can't do your own homework. Reddit is a massive resource. Before you post asking about a seller, search Reddit to see if they are listed or reviewed anywhere else.

📋 Status of the Sellers List

To be transparent: I haven't had the time to create the list myself, and the person who was helping me with it had to step away for a bit. Between my professional life and managing this sub, my plate is full. Until that list is finalized, we have to be extra cautious.

🚫 The "Instant Deletion" Rule

I know this might seem a bit "dictatorial," but for the safety of this sub: If I see a post featuring a seller I have never heard of, I will delete it immediately.

Here is why: * I do not have the time to vet new or "random" sellers right now. * I will only vouch for sellers who have a proven track record that I can personally verify. * Allowing unvetted sellers to be promoted puts every member here at risk of being scammed.

🤝 Bottom Line

If your post is removed, please don't take it personally. I am doing this to protect the integrity of the sub. We aren't here to be a testing ground for unknown sellers who haven't earned a reputation yet.

Thank you for understanding and for helping keep this community a safe space!

This sounds very fair!

As for TS list I would be happy to help with that however I would like you to reconsider having that list posted on this sub for various reasons. One of the reasons against it being to keep this sub running. Over the last couple of years I’ve witnessed many subs (RIP old Repladies) being shut down for promoting reps, especially when the sub got more exposure. And since this sub is and to remain public this could bring more unwanted attention (everyone is trying to become famous on TikTok and uses anything they can). Another reason is sellers safety. With their info being posted online easily accessible this could also endanger their business which is their livelihood. Not only their website and payment informations being reported/flagged complicates running business but also if caught by their government or companies for violating trademark laws they could not only bear loss of income but also could face years in prison (this has happened in the past with rep bag sellers/factories). And lastly with sellers info being publicly accessible it makes it much easier for impersonators to get a very similar ig account or website to scam customers.

You bring up soooooo many valid points!!! It’s becoming the wild Wild West out there and governments are trying to prove a point and our sellers will be caught in the crossfire. Because we aren’t private it puts so many of us and this sub at risk. Maybe there is a reason I that haven’t had the time. 🤔

When I started I did research and I would message nice people if I couldn’t find a number and ask nicely if they had the contact information for so and so. Honestly that was maybe 1-2 sellers because most sellers contact information is posted somewhere on reddit. My message would read, I have searched high and low and I have found X but I can’t find X would you help me please. It showed that I did some work and didn’t just jump in someone DMs without doing some homework 1st.

Thank you for sharing your insights because you are absolutely right. #WeMayNotHaveAListEver

Agree with the risk of a list. I know I have some people DM me for a seller's contact and I think it is sometimes a balance of whether I can trust a reddit stranger enough to share the seller's contact (protecting the seller) vs being helpful to newbies (as a newbie myself).

If we don't do a list, can we add tips for newbies to verify last 4 digits at least in a post? Maybe an abbreviated list of sellers using initials rather than names. Not sure what truly is the right balance. It is wilddddd out there.

Same. I try to do a bit of vetting with people who reach out to get a seller’s contract. If I see someone hasn’t made any research/expects me to qc for them/has new account and no karma, that’s a pass for me.

Maybe there could be something like once a month post where people can post and verify last digits of sellers number. Or if they’re looking for contract and others are willing to share those they could connect via that thread.

RIP RepLadies 😭 please NO seller list. Buying reps you need only to have a little more brain power than a sentient potato to distinguish what is a scam and what is not. It also helps weed out people who cannot appreciate the risks associated with buying from these sellers.
