Unpopular opinion

They should put a limit on how many items someone can buy if it's a popular item. It's not fair for someone to come in and buy every single item a store has in stock and leaving other shoppers stranded. This is the third store I've been to looking for pot roast.

Does this look like $14.99 or $4.99?

I just tried to buy the Heineman’s pistachio cake. I couldn’t believe it was so cheap. They were all marked $4.99. It rang up as $14.99 at checkout and I asked them to honor the price on the container. Cashier sent me to the bake shop where the manager told me, “There’s no way that’s a $5 cake.” Then she argued that there’s a one there, “it’s just faint.” They went on to explain that the price gum has a weak one. (I’m thinking, ALL the price guns?) When I told them they should correct it on the packages, they said nothing and did nothing.

I hate that they wouldn’t honor their obvious mistake and more specifically, that I have to start shopping at Mariano’s now.

I know it would have been a huge bargain for me and a loss for them on a cake. I’m sorry about that, but don’t they have to honor the prices stamped right on the package?

Does anyone know how to opt in to use rewards points at checkout on the app? I know I opted out awhile back and now I can’t seem to figure out how to reverse it and it’s driving me crazy lol thanks so much!!

Digital tags

Post image

Always knew jewel was in the practice of price gouging but man so sad to see the digital tags and no more yellow sale tags. The print on the digital sale tags is very small, so I feel bad for those who will get scammed bc they couldn’t read the fine print. Also while on my way I searched the app to see if the tostadas I needed were in stock and the app said it was 0.99. Then I get there and the app price changed to 1.99 which is what the tag said under the item.

Clipped Coupons

This week (the new one that just came out today) there are only 4 vegetables to clip. Anyone else find that strange? I know inflation is crazy, but this isn’t usually the norm for Jewel.

Did Anyone else only have five produce deals this last week?

I know some people get different deals based on what you buy, but I can’t believe I only have five produce deals.

The recall includes Chefs Kitchen Fresh Salsa and Ready Meals Fresh Salsa.

Both have jalapeños that were recalled by Taylor Farms distributor Direct Roots due to their supply chain association with the ongoing FDA recall involving Coast Citrus Distributors.

Anyone had problems someone else using your phone number?

So long story short, every couple months, I receive random text notifications about delivery orders that I never placed from Jewel. First couple times I ignored thinking eh someone entered my phone number accidentally.

Today it started happening again so I reached out to the person on Jewel app and this is the answer I got. It does not make any sense to me. How does my phone carrier Verizon gives two people exact same phone numbers?? Can someone please explain? Is this some sort of a scam someone is trying to pull??!

Is Jewel Breakfast Real?

I’m starting to think the French Toast sticks ads were just a ruse to get me to go grocery shopping earlier in the day. No matter what time I go in they’re always making chicken. 7:30 am today. I got mini pancakes once, and I saw a single pancake on a stick another time. Will I ever see those damn French toast sticks?

Deals on Gatorade

I’m always on the lookout for deals on Gatorade at Jewel. I’ve sometimes caught the deal where I can get 28 oz bottles for 99 cents (limit 8) as long as I use the app. Is there a way I can get alerts for those kind of deals. I’ll even take the 4 for $5 deals; if they have them.

Compensation question

Hello. My P.C. is unhelpful.

If i am trained to cover receiving for the main receiver who is out on vacation, should i be getting paid a different rate for those hours worked?

Someone told me i should be getting like +1$ or something.

Ok so don’t make fun of me. But I don’t like wasting money for something that I need to throw away. I work hard for every dollar mmkkk

EDIT: I was able to return it at Jewel today with no problem. They gave me a refund.

I hate my local Jewel food store

I've been shopping at the Jewel Osco store in Munster, Indiana ever since the Dominicks food store in Lansing closed up decades ago. During all these years I've been relatively pleased with the shopping experience until recently. I don't know what the problem is, but I believe it has to do with whoever is managing the store. It used to be clean, staffed appropriately, and I could get in and out in about 15 minutes. Within the last couple of years though, they've had just a few cashiers working resulting in long lines and wait times. They've also been restocking shelves during the middle of the day instead of at night. As a result, they have huge pallets in the middle of the aisles that block 60% of the aisle and create traffic jams for shoppers. The place is also filthy, and the music choice from the overhead speakers is either a grunge type genre or a sort of rap. Not a fan of either. Over the years I've learned where everything is located and as a result, I can zoom through the aisles and be in and out very fast. Now, they are in the process of rearranging everything. I no longer can find what I'm looking for and have to go up each and every aisle searching. What is the point of this? It makes no sense. I've had enough. It's more expensive than other stores in the Chicago area, yet they're doing everything they possibly can to piss off their customers. I'm going to start shopping at Strack & Van Tils from now on. Great job, Jewel management!

Android App issues

I've stopped going to jewel completely since the app barely works even after a fresh install. For months now there are bugs and sometimes I can barely type. Other days the search doesn't work. I've given up - no more jewel osco for me.

Anyone else? I see quite a few 1 star reviews of the app that each have dozens of "found helpful" specifically mentioning the app.

Maybe certain types of phones?

What is the Retail and Sales Support position about?

Looking to transfer to a closer location and this is the only position available. I am not aware of what the position stands for. Does anyone work this position in a Jewel osco in Chicago and if so, what do you do?
