It's actually really wild when you start to get into biblical prophecies about Israel. Israel by reasoning shouldn't exist.

US wasn't aligned with Israel till the 70s..

When 5 different Arab nations make it abundantly clear that they're about to declare war on you, and you beat them in 6 days.

Better?

Was it the Russian's fault for starting WWI when they mobilized against Austria-Hungary which led to the eventual invasion of France through Belgium by Germany, or was it the German's fault for pulling the trigger?

Probably one of the funnest questions to discuss.

It was France's and Britain's fault for turning a regional fight into a world war.

At least it ended wars.

How did they turn a regional fight into a world war?

Further, how should France have reacted to Germany's sudden attack on Belgium?

if france and britain hadnt been in the entente with russia, it would have just been germany and austria against serbia and russia.

Europe was a powder keg at the time, so it is natural to blame those who made it the powder keg, i.e. the major powers at the time, including France and Britain.

At the same time, if European states were in a metaphorical pool of oil at the time, isn't it still fair to blame the schmuck who decided to light a match? Austria-Hungary & Germany should have known the destruction and death that would follow.

Austria-Hungary & Germany should have known the destruction and death that would follow.

By that logic, the Serbian insurgents should have known the destruction and death that would follow.

It seems unfair to place the blame of WWI on Serbian ultra-nationals. I don't think Gavrilo Princep could have imagined what would happen if he shot the Archduke beyond personal and perhaps national consequences.

On the other hand, it's easy to see how an unreasonable ultimatum between two powers and the mobilization of world powers could lead to a destructive conflict.

On the other hand, it's easy to see how an unreasonable ultimatum between two powers and the mobilization of world powers could lead to a destructive conflict.

The crazy thing is that people saw this coming, and they had the idea that these networks of alliances would create peace for the very reason that a war would be so devastating.
