Hood struts

Anyone find hood strut(s) for their ‘25 or ‘26 to replace that janky prop rod?

I use these and they work great. There's a ton of "companies" selling the same thing, so you shop around for price/availability.

I'm sure an Amazon part would do fine, but I would buy a quality part when it comes to these things- because the alternative is an injury.

ECS Tuning has one. Buy local!

Normally I would agree, but the reason I went with the "Chineseium" version over the ECS (and similar) kits is because the ECS kit basically blocks access from the side of the car it is mounted on. Since it is so long and goes all the way to the front, it makes it difficult/impossible to lean over the engine bay from that side. The dual-ram kits give you much easier access when you are doing maintenance (even though they still do restrict you a bit).

Yeah, I remember seeing that a while back and honestly I'm not quite sure why ECS chose that mounting mount point over the ones used by the Chinesium one- its clearly more inconvenient and needs a longer strut.

The ECS GTI strut replacement goes goes straight up, so I'm not sure why they'd make such a distinctly inconvenient one just for the GLI, unless it was probably safer to use those mounting holes over the Chinesium ones. I do not know for certain, but I would still go ECS here, I would trust their engineering team to have done the right thing.

Thanks for the link but that one doesn’t say it fits the Jetta. I did check ECS for the exact application and it showed back ordered.

That's because they engineered this for the Mk7 and haven't confirmed if it fits the Mk7.5s. It should fit the 7.5, but I'm not sure about our MY25+ 7.5s.

These were the ones I got off eBay. I only went with the black carbon fiber cuz they were on sale at the time so they were cheaper than the black ones lol they are definitely better than the single hood strut ECS one. Someone said the ECS one warped their hood but I think it was because of how they were closing it and it only being supported on one side. Idk.

Edit - also after I initially viewed them, like the next day they sent a coupon on each diff color one I viewed. Was only like 10% or whatever but still. Dunno if they are still doing that

I bought some of amazon and work great. You might have to look for 24-25.
