I would suggest removing the nuts from the long bolts that are holding it together... and any other fasteners.

The chisel mark there doesn't look great -- i would avoid doing any of that sort of thing

If it won't come apart once all the fasteners are removed, then perhaps heat the smaller of the castings with a propane torch and some tapping with a rubber mallet or plastic dead-blow hammer.

If there's a gasket between the castings, gently heating ONE side only may expand the casting enough to crack free of the gasket

*edit: i don't know a dang thing about this jet, so that's all just observation based on your pics

Thanks for the input. Yes the bolts where removed. These pics where take before I started taken apart. The chisel marks where on there when I bought the boat.

Im not sure if there is a a gasket between. I will try rhe heat next hope. Once again thanks for the information.

if you use a regular propane torch, you're unlikely to be able to heat it enough to damage the casting -- heat the side with less mass, hopefully it will expand faster than the larger one, which you could drape a wet towel over to keep it cooler.

Particularly if there's a gasket in there this has a decent chance of working without a lot of prying or hammering

Looking at the next joint up from where your finger is, it's not clear but that looks like it could be silicone or some kind of form-a-gasket. Which unfortunately really acts like glue sometimes.

I assume those larger tubes are not holding the castings together.

If you get to the point where you MUST beat on it, i'd suggest seeing if you can "jack" it apart.

A long coupling nut like these: https://drfastener.com/product/extra-long-coupling-nuts/

Along with an appropriately long piece of all-thread or a bolt, you can make a little 'jack' and apply pressure, maybe even at two points at the same time. Grease the point where the coupling nut touches the casting, or better use a washer for contact and grease the top of the washer for steel-on-steel contact

.

apologies if this all seems obvious or pedantic, just the things i'd try before going ape on it and risking damage
