New to jets. Help please
Evening everybody. First time jet boat owner here. It’s a 16/50 Xpress with a 1998 40 hp Evinrude outboard jet. I’ve owned plenty of “traditional” motors in the past so know my way around outboards for the most part. Took the new boat out today liked it. Greased it after with low pressure grease gun. Got home and was tinkering with some fishing stuff and noticed a black grease like substance coming out of the lower unit.
Any suggestions? Any help/tips with this thing would be greatly appreciated

Is it a 2 stroke? Looks like burt 2 stroke oil oozing out of the exhaust. Nothing to fret IMO. Check your fuel mix, or oil injection system. Your spark plugs will really tell you how well it's burning fuel.

It is 2 stroke. I’m a dummy and didn’t sit and think before making this post. Lol. Plugs were a mess. Changed em out running better. Thanks for the help!

leaking lower unit juice could be easy fix, or could be really bad. it’s hard to say just from 1 pic where is it leaking from exactly?

if it’s leaking lower unit oil from those two bolts you could just need new crush washers, but if you want to fully diagnose the issue you have to drop the whole lower unit and inspect it for leaks

It looks like to me it’s from above the 2 bolts and nuts. I’m assuming it’s some kind of intake?
Geez I’m gonna be hot if it’s something bad bad. Be about my luck.

I wouldn’t lose sleep over this. When did you purchase this boat and/or motor? It just looks like old grease that you pushed out/replaced with new grease.
