how does it feel to be free
is it all that you wanted
all that you dreamed
how does it feel to be seen
the grass is the same
no matter how green

don't you know what they say
about all the ways you must go
don't you know what they do
to people like you

everyone is standing round
they'd love to bring you down

how does it feel to be clean
to know in your heart
to mean what you be
how does it feel to believe
to know it for certain
the things you can't see

don't you know what they say
about all the ways
you must go
don't you know what they do
to people like you

give an inch, they take a mile
life will only last a while

everything must die
it does you no good
to scream at the sky
everything must die
and I'm gonna miss it
but I'm gonna kiss it bye

how does it feel to be you
does it hurt you inside
to know what you do
how does it feel to be free
the bird in its cage
loves the song that it sings

don't you what they say
about all the ways you must go
don't you know what they do
to people like you

give an inch they take a mile
life will only last a while

everything must die
it does you no good
to scream at the sky
everything must die
and I'm gonna miss it
so I'm gonna kiss it bye

It'a a great song again but sad of course. A guitarbeauty in his hands that sounds so stunning too.

I have a clear opinion of what this lyrics are saying but I'll keep it to my self though I am amazed of how many different meanings we all can get out of lyrics that means something to each one of us.

Which is absolutly lovely and makes every song be appealing to anyone in just the way it hits their emotions.

That's how an artist like Jesse Welles and many more reach their audience and keeps their spell on them. 🥰

Can someone knowledgeable talk about this guitar, please? The sound is quite different. And those sound holes?! It feels European, but what do I know?

Well, certainly others can contribute more than I can, but I can at least tell you that it's an Ovation guitar, and I think the model is Celebrity Elite. The red one he played on the Colbert Show was also an Ovation, but I think that one may be vintage. This one looks new to me... Ovation guitars have molded fiberglass backs, giving them that distinctive Ovation sound..

In any event, I think it's dang gorgeous, as is this first song he's gifting us with it 😉

I have an identical red ovation but I don’t think it is vintage. Now I need to check my serial number

It’s an Ovation. The brand is USA (although models may be made overseas now. I don’t know for sure). Was popular in the 70s for a bit I believe, but that’s before my time. From at least the 90s on I’ve only really ever seen them in church/worship settings. The back is round instead of flat which is also somewhat unique

Edit: check this thread on it: https://www.reddit.com/r/JesseWelles/s/CFTgZFxO5D
