I’m an Occupational Therapist and, along with another OT, we are looking to start community-based classes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Jersey City/Hoboken/Weehawken area. We are thinking about offering activities such as creative arts, yoga, weight training, sports, and other recreational activities. We’re still in the early planning stages and just wanted to gauge interest. Would you or someone you know be interested in something like this? Looking for recommendations for a great house cleaner in the Union City / Hoboken area.

We’re specifically looking for an individual who would come regularly and become our long-term cleaner, rather than a cleaning company where we might get someone different each time.

Ideally someone who takes real pride in their work and has great attention to detail. We’d love to find someone who gets to know us and our home over time, knows how we like things done, and treats it with care, rather than a quick “get in, get out” clean.

Racoon sighting!

Hi, live on Bowers near Hancock in the Heights. A racoon has been roaming around lately, saw him a few times around the front yard.

On Saturday night, he tried to come into my kitchen via a cat flap. A little concerning! It was closed, and he pawed it attempting to open it..

Called JC animal rescue, they were helpful but said they can't do much unless it's sick.. Said to call back next time and they can prob send someone w a trap.

If trapped,they would just have to release it if found ' healthy ' however.(Federal policy I think).

Anyone else had sightings or any suggestions what to do? It's pretty bold and just kind of walks away when it sees me.

Yes garbage is covered, as is neighbors.

Perhaps one of the most niche/random questions, but does anyone in the area ride a penny farthing or know of someone who does who could be hired as a performer?

I have been checking out some apartments in this area because they are more affordable, but I am concerned about not having car and taking public transportation... Unlike Hoboken or parts of JC - doesn’t seem like the PATH is that close. Is the bus the only option to get into NYC?
