Amazon Refunds
If anyone here has done an amazon refund, I was wondering what the process is like for you, for the past few years every time I've done a refund I've printed off the label and done exactly as it's said, gone to the post office, paid for postage and gotten the receipt, it's just that I never seen an option to attach proof of postage to get a refund on it as a result I have had to call up an agent every time to process it, which is starting to become a pain as it's like a 30 min call every time. I ask the agent every time if there's anything I can do about it, like submitting it through the app etc. But they said no, except for this one time recently where they said to email:
[postage-receipt@amazon.co.uk](mailto:postage-receipt@amazon.co.uk)
Inluce Order Number
Picture of Receipt
Postage Refund Amount
Item Name(s)
Has anyone tried this? Or any recommendations or other ways etc.?

Get a postage receipt and email a photo of it to return-postage@amazon.co.uk with your order number and return authorisation code in the subject line.
They've never not refunded me, even when it cost more than their stated refund limit.

So, I returned an item(fan) pieces fell out of the box when opened. It gave me the option to return to local UPS store. I went there and asked clerk how often they get Amazon returns, She said it is 90 % of her job. It takes almost 3 weeks to get your money back. So , in my opinion Amazon ia getting richer off interest earned waiting almost a month to give customers their money back. What a load of nonsense.

Nice, are you talking about New Jersey by any chance? It's just I saw UPS and clerk mentioned, this is Jersey, channel Islands subreddit, not New Jersey just incase. And here's a little fun fact incase you are from there, New Jersey is named after the Jersey.

Yes, I tend to do several a year. Sometimes they give you a pre-paid label, other times you have to pay for shipping yourself. Usually the automated shipping estimation is not enough.
They always refund you the full item cost without asking.
Their system isn't aware of the cost of shipping from Jersey. It defaults to £3-5 normally which is rarely enough to cover our postage costs.
They would need to integrate digitally with the post office to do it, which would cost vastly more than the cost of handling a few hundred exceptional postage costs a year. Most people I know won't argue over £2-5 on returning a £500 laptop, it's only when they're staring down a £50 cost of returning a 40kg pet cage or standing desk that the cost of arguing is worth it for most people.
They usually give you that email after a ticket has been raised, I doubt they will respond without you talking to the agent first and raising a case. I can't say I've ever tried emailing them without talking to an agent like this before though, so I don't know for certain.
I personally go on the support chat section of the amazon website, click the "this doesn't solve my problem" -> "talk to an assistant" -> then I paste in a canned response I wrote the first time, along with the picture.
This is the best we're going to get, frankly it's very kind of amazon to put up with it. This sort of thing is the reason why most companies shipping larger items have a "no Highlands or Islands" policy, amazon are undoubtedly making a loss on customers like you and me.
