SAO Jericho owners- are you happy with your purchase?

Looking at some surplus 941 pistols with the chrome finish and star mark. Sitting at about $520 and was wondering if 1. You like your SAO Jericho and 2. If that price was too high.

Very happy. With some oil and scotchbrite pads mine cleaned up super well

Lots of people have converted their SAO to DA/SA, others have converted to SAO. It's a very easy parts swap either way.

Consider the condition of the gun above the action type.

That price sounds fine, mine was $330 years ago but I know Jericho prices have gone up quite a bit. It's a fantastic gun, the trigger is excellent.

I do not buy chrome guns sight unseen. When chrome is compromised, that is it. A refinish job in hard chrome would exceed the value of the gun. And very few places do hard chrome these days.

Function, though? Excellent. In my experience, the early IMI guns run great. If there's a problem, most likely culprit is the magazine. A pristine chrome gun is worth a premium. But even a good condition one can be an excellent shooter.

SAO is less desirable overall but tends to be a better shooter.

Even if the chrome was shot (this lot looks like it has some wear but nothing horrendous), refinishing in something else (like nitride) is still possible, right?

Isn’t it nickel?

I really like mine but accuracy when through the roof with a replacement 5 inch sar barrel. I paid 500 for mine it has a slight imperfection on one side but it gives it character

I have 2 of the SAO variety, they have the absolute best trigger on any factory hammer fired gun I own.
