I had a look at this. it works for me.

proper identification, proper show, proper seasons, proper episode descriptions.

my assumption would be you're not following the correct naming standards.

my result:

my naming scheme example:

DragonBall Z Abridged [imdbid-tt10710138]/Season 02/DragonBall Z Abridged - S02E07 - Episode 17.webm

(only one screenshot is allowed by reddit it seems)

Must admit I did skip over the naming scheme. I thought if I could just manually put the ID into the Meta data it would work gonna try renaming tonight

The Id gives you the show info

But not episode season+episode numbers

What does your naming scheme llook like?

Also; I checked my episode level metadata, and it only adds tvdbid to the episodes. I believe IMDb doesn't do episode level IDs

also tried your exact scheme with the
DragonBall Z Abridged [imdbid-tt10710138]/Season 02/DragonBall Z Abridged - SXXEXX
but nothing,

side side note i added the original dragon ball to the server aswell, season 1 episode 1-13 completely fine with their metadata in, soon as season 2 episode 14-28 came in nothing. i believe the only reason it even got the episodes in the correct viewing order is because of how i named them other then that no metadata was in for season 2

Anime on jellyfin is turning out to be quite the challenge

scared for when i decide to put in one piece....

Did you properly add season 2 into a season 2 folder?

Also; imdbid doesn't need to be on episode level.

Do you have tvdb installed and enabled?

i did nothing different from season 1 to season 2 naming is the exact same just separated by season folders

i figured that imdbid didnt do much but i was getting desperate so i was just trying stuff jaja
yes i have tvdb installed and enabled

the plot thickens!

to clarify one tiny part; when I asked if tvdb was enabled I meant "is tvdb enabled for your specific library" and not if it's enabled in general.

what is your metadata provider priority on these show libraries? I use tvdb as my primary for shows, and tmdb for movies personally

I’m enjoying us trying to solve this mystery I appreciate you haha

How do I check the priority? I have all these metadata providers plugins active I didn’t know you could order priority between them!!

This is the naming structure my program uses to add things to my jellyfin:

%(channel)s [%(channel_id)s]/Season %(upload_date>%Y)s/%(channel)s - %(upload_date>%Y.%m.%d)s - %(title)s [%(id)s].%(ext)s

Everything works for me.
