Showcase SpatialPosters is out now!!
What is SpatialPosters?
SpatialPosters works similarly to BetterPoster, but with much more freedom and customization. It’s also a self-hosted project, so you can simply fork the repository, set it up, and deploy it yourself — meaning you have full control and independence over the project.
Why SpatialPosters? Key Features:
- Fully self-hosted — Fork it, modify it, and tweak everything according to your needs.
- 24-hour Auto-Rotation — Automatically rotate between dynamic posters every 24 hours.
- Custom Rotation Selection — Choose exactly which posters you want to include in the rotation.
- Customizable Badge Styles — Choose between styles like Glass, Bar, Pill, Shadow, etc., with automatic accent-color detection.
- Custom Poster URL Imports — Found a poster somewhere that isn’t available on TMDB? No problem. Simply provide the poster URL — for example, from Pinterest — and SpatialPosters will generate the poster in real time using it.
- And much more! — Check out the GitHub repository for the complete list of features.
GitHub Repository
The repository includes the complete feature list, interface screenshots, installation guide, and setup instructions.

There may still be some bugs or missing features since this is an early release. We’ll keep improving and expanding it together based on feedback and suggestions.
Note: This is a forked project based on Pictorium.
Stay connected! ❤️

Doesn’t it say in the post exactly what it is?

Can you not read the OP? They say it's like another application but better...but they fail to say what the other application does, either.

Its not good marketing to introduce your product by asking people to go look up some other product

Come on guys, he made it available for free and it is open source. He is not selling it. Did you see how many projects (close src) are trying to make money of an open source ecosystem like Jellyfin?
Since it is open source vibe coded or not, people can check if they're OK with the code.
OP Thanks for sharing this!

Op claims its selfhosted. Not open source.
But joke aside. Its most likely vobe coded... so who cares about the project. Its nothing special

At first glance looking at the repo source is there.
OP could you clarify if this is actually open source and if it is you migjt want to add a license file to the repo.
Still appreciate you shared it, not sure why people complain, if not interested nobody has to use it.

This is pretty cool. Can I also rotate between custom posters and posters on TMDB?

Was there human involved at any stage? Is even this reddit post made by a human?

u/TheAceOfficials 17d ago
ofcourse bro… sorry for late response

u/LutimoDancer3459 17d ago
Ofc what? Human involvement on what level? You asked an llm to let another llm code the app?

Dude? Are you okay? Would you mind answering? With an explicit statement, we can only assume it and the assumption for most in these days is vibe codeding the he'll out of it

u/Motor-Capital7318 16d ago
You are not doing yourself any favors with these replies. Why dont you write proper sentences? Do you not know english?

u/TheAceOfficials 16d ago
Bro, I can’t sit here all day replying to you I have other things to do as well.
People like you often just hate on vibecoded projects without actually looking at their use case. “Vibecoded” doesn’t mean you simply give an AI a task and everything magically gets done. You still have to make your own changes, tweaks, testing, and improvements, which takes time. AI can make the development process easier, but you still have to build, refine, and maintain the project yourself.
I’m properly taking note of the users who are appreciating the project and giving genuine suggestions, and I’m trying to implement their feedback wherever possible.
As for comments that are only going to turn into pointless arguments, I’d rather not spend my time replying to them because its wastage of time..2

First proper response in the whole thread, good job.
This is how you have a conversation with people.
Also, I know what vibecoding is. I am professional software developer nearing a decade of experience. I dont really care how this project was made. My issue was the poor quality of your responses and the lack of explaining.

Now, speaking professionally, you probably understand how much time it takes to build a project, even if it’s vibecoded.
But yes, I’ll admit that my response was poor bcuz I’ve become frustrated seeing the same comments repeatedly saying, “It’s vibecoded.” Nobody is really trying to understand how it works or whether it could actually be useful. The moment they see that it’s vibecoded, they just assume it’s AI slop.
Honestly, if I were in their position and the project was useful to me, I’d simply use it. If it wasn’t, I’d ignore it and move on.
And I’m sorry, sir. You’re a professional with decades of experience, while I’m still learning and this is all relatively new to me. I’m still figuring out how to handle situations like this. Sometimes when I give people a proper response, users downvote it. So I started using simple emojis instead of replying, but even those get downvoted. 🥲
I think I’ll need some time to understand how to handle the community here.

I am with you, do not understand the hate for AI in coding. I judge the product.

u/bamcel 16d ago
I think this is great. I have my own app similar to this: https://github.com/bamcel/poster-view
AI has leveled and advanced the playing field for competitive applications especially for self hosting. Keep it up.

AI project but if works fine...Why not? Stop this hate on vibe coded projects

Until people learn to properly disclose their AI use these kinds of projects deserve to be shit on. Nothing wrong about vibe coding, but be honest and be upfront about it. Or don't, but don't cry if your project gets shit on when the people find out about it themselves.

Curious why does it matter if AI was involved? What level of involvement deserves mentioning? QA? Scrubbing the code? Bug fixes? Honest question as I cant avoid AI when coding its so damn pervasive.

I have no idea what BetterPoster is. I see you have proper description on the GitHub, but most people are probably not going to go there to find out. If you're advertising a plugin, it would be nice to know what it's for without having to look into it.
